Would you recommend taking it to the dealer for repair? I really want the best paint match possible. Is there anything else I should be thinking about when talking to the insurance people? Don’t think they’ll need to replace any parts, but I’d want original parts if any are needed.

My dealership will send out body work to an independent body shop for repairs so I would definitely recommend doing some research and make sure you find the right place. Matching the paint shouldn't be too hard for a good shop to do considering it is a newer truck and shouldn't have too much fading or wear to it. Sending good vibes it gets taken care of quickly for you!

Taking her to a shop that worked on my last truck this afternoon for an estimate. They did good work.

Sorry to hear these stories. The body shop took about three weeks on my accident ($5800). It was a dealership affiliated body shop who fixed my hood when my truck was damaged while unloading. They did a nice job matching both times but the second time I wasn't as happy. I took it back and they buffed some spots out and now I'm good. That was until yesterday when my wife carelessly opened the freshly painted door and chipped the edge of the door. Now I need some touch up paint.
