There is a way to see if the PCM has been flashed in FDRS. When would it be used? Only when a major engine failure has occurred and it is suspected that the PCM was tuned
Correct but do they know if it was flashed last Thursday or Christmas two years ago?

It has a nice counter that includes ignition cycles on the current flashed program. If you change the tune right before going in it will be a very low number. That will be red flag number 1. They also will see the program file. It will be obvious to Ford that it is tuned if you leave the file be. It's a bit of a double edged sword.

10-4 I was wondering for the used truck purchase with aftermarket extended warranty for the “how could I know” plausible deniability clause. If it was flashed fifteen minutes before, well… busted.
Option B: Are there any pucks or modules that have trans logic files as well as engine? Thank you sir!

FWIW, I just had my annual state inspection done on my Ranger. On the print out I got it listed the number of miles driven since the last time the ECU was flashed and the number of key cycles since the ECU was "reset" (presumably that is codes being cleared). You know dam well if the generic state OBD inspection equipment can see that then Ford can too.

If you flash back to stock right before a service, won't the transmission be in learn mode again and run weird for the technician?
