Well, this went about like I imagined it would. I put the rack together and laid it up top to see how it fit before I do the drilling later this week.

The roof rack for a GEN2 will work just fine. The only oddities are the front brackets don't sit exactly center of the gutter channel, but we are talking very minimal offset - nothing that should prevent proper installation.

One personal adjustment I may make is to slot out the bracket by another 1/4 inch where it connects to the rack to lower it slightly. I am not sure if the gap between the sides and roof is normal, but it seems a tad high to me, but no biggie.

Looking good.

I saw a new Trail Boss on demo from Chevy at a festival last weekend. It looked really nice. I think the new, and upcoming, mid-size trucks are killing it.

Drilling to the roof?

All that gear, you have to be a part time mercenary ?

Seen a trail boss when I was running around recently, good looking truck for sure

Thanks to @Msfitoy my wheel choice selection path has been made clear by his master photoshop skills (lol!);

Same wheels as Ranger, but I think I am going to get them powercoated a dune color.

I like your stock wheels better, but that’s just me.

I'm working on a bone-headed idea. I can only describe it as a over the cab rack that will overlay the roof rack by 3/4th. I just can't help myself...

I got the idea when cruising Google and came upon a similar design, but the company makes overhung bed campers.

That's great to hear!

Now the Ranger, Colorado, and the Tacoma all have the same lug pattern.

Hmmm... ?
its the same pattern as well as older chevy 1500s as well. i sold a set of tacoma wheels years ago that wound up on some early 2000s 1500

Anyone think there is a buyer out there for a full set of F/B factory Ranger shocks with only about 12k miles on them or should I junk them?

Hell I still have a set of factory running boards too. lol

I need to do some cleaning out in the garage.
I may be interested in the stock running boards, for in case I ever decide to trade/sell my Ranger.

I would plan to remove my Shrockworks sliders and the truck just looks naked to me without something there.

I'd be interested in seeing a mock-up of this idea. How much clearance between the roof rack & the overlay?
