I mentioned this in a previous post. I got a 38 year old camper van months ago with absolutely zero tech. Fuel Injection and power door locks are its only techs. I love owning and driving this behemoth. So much cockpit room. The big V8 rumbling under there. When I drive this van I DRIVE. No distractions. I have to pay attention to all my tasks of managing the vehicle on the road. It is refreshing to say the least. And I'm tech-savvy.

I remember owning a 2016 Work Truck GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3 V8. yes it had roll up windows but it only had two windows. Single cab, long bed. She was fast too because she was so light weight. Tool box on the bed. Fatter wheels and tires. A 91 Octane Tune. Bilstein shocks. No LED information screen. LOL! That truck was awesome. I miss the simplicity.

This emphasis on giving buyers more tech in our vehicles is a horrible idea in my opinion. You don't need a 360 camera. I could back that 8 foot bed single cab truck into any parking spot. You have eyes attached to a swiveling head right? Google Maps is on your phone if you want to navigate. Ok you're allowed to stream music. Do you need it displayed on an 8" screen? Do you need to cycle through menus to change settings on the truck or climate control? C'mon! If I were replacing my Ranger I think I want to go back to basics. My smartphone is my tech. My truck is for driving.

Plans are in next 2 years to source out an early to mid 90's Ford F-150 Bull Nose for a daily driver. Will look for a low milage, original, mint cond. Their out there....just have to search and spend the $$$$
Couple of years back there was a Bronco listed on one of the auction web sites...think it was a 92 or 93 owned by a college and used for on campus only. Very low mileage, 4x4, stright 6 with a 4 speed and ac...pretty much basic but from the photos was in pristine cond. White with blue vinyl interior. It was in the low $20's....but at the time with new motor home and new Subi to tow behind it, couldn't justify buying it.....

Those are in demand right now for sure. So many people are just getting tired of all the tech and the price tags of these ridiculous add-ons! You need to find one that someone else already worked on and made close to 100%.

There out there, in one owner pristine condition. Pricy but still cheaper than buying an average one and then have to throw $$$$$ into it to bring it up to reliable standards.

I recently went from 21 ranger to 26 ranger raptor. Also got a 25 mustang a year ago. The mustang they stuffed everything in the touch screen including climate controls. Which i didn't like but its my wifes car so whatever.

With the 26 ranger its a little more balanced with knobs. Only some options in the touch screen that you probably won't need on a daily base except cameras. So its not bad. Not as complicated.
