Here's a few from Luke Air Force Days a few years ago at the airshow. They had a simulation with the bombers which was cool.

I love the simulated bombing runs. See them every year at Oshkosh. Here's a good shot I got of "Fifi" a couple years ago, which at the time was the only flying B-29 in the world. Now there is one more, "Doc", and the second pic shows the two of them flying side by side. A sight not seen for many many years.

There’s a small airport near me, and when the old WWII planes come in for an event it feels like the world is coming to an end. For some reason they fly over my house, none of the normal planes do.

There's a very small group of people that can fly those puppies. My mother worked with one that used to travel around to air shows just to pilot a B-17. ??

Love me the sound of some old fashioned radials!
Oh it's great, but it goes like this:
Me: Oh, sounds like a plane is coming in, wow, I usually can't hear them.
<30 seconds pass>
Man, that plane is still coming in, what's going on?
<30 seconds pass, house is shaking>
What the heck? Is it crashing?
<house continues to shake, dog is missing, pictures fall off the wall>
For the love of...what is going on?
<Go outside to see a B17 within throwing distance over my house.
Oh, well, that's cool.

It was neat to see, and you could buy a ride on it. I almost did, but at the time it would have literally cost my entire savings to do so. It crashed a few weeks after I last saw it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Even though they don't from January/February through March/April since the Soo Locks are usually closed and parts of the lake freeze (rarely all of it). October, November, and April are the bad months, especially the last few years where we've had some good hurricane force storms each spring and fall. But nowadays captains are less inclined to take risk and the boats are bigger, so usually any large storm you'll find them all hiding in the bays and ports.

Either way though, Superior is never to be taken lightly.
Pretty intense winter storm happening now through tomorrow on the big lake. Heavy snow and wind gusts of up to 70mph out of the North on the lake producing blizzard conditions and temps well below 0F. All the freighters are either hugging the northern shore of the lake or hunkering down in ports, bays, or behind large islands to keep out of the wind as best they can.

Some shots of the Duluth Harbor entry. First picture is from the start of the storm around 3:30pm, the second is from a couple hours ago before it got dark. You could say visibility on the lake has decreased a bit.

Wow those look like CGI, did you take and edit those???
I had a friend send this to me. She got it from another friend of hers and said it was just taken last night. Not sure if she edited it.
