Hi, I’m Adam and I’m addicted to DeWalt...top pic was taken today since my daughter turned 4 months old. Bottom pic is a year old so I’ve added at least 12-18 more to it (lawnmower, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, vacuum, 5th grinder...).

Absolutely! You can’t go wrong with the XR brushless stuff.

Of my whole collection this is one that’s near the top of my list. I use it with a pair of Flexvolt 9.0s and I can cut my yard front and back, then use my trimmer and clean up with my blower all on that one pair of batteries.

Porter Cable which makes Black&Decker, Porter Cable, DeWalt and Craftsman(power tools) manufacturing is a few miles from the house so I have to support the home team. I had field techs abuse DeWalt drills, including a drop off a 2 story house onto asphalt, and they kept working. I think we started having a few issues with a few chucks (released the bit randomly) after 4 years or so of daily abuse.

Honestly though, unless you are a steel worker, you can go wrong with either.

Black & Decker was our home team, until they got bought by a multinational and shut down their local manufacturing. (Most of which moved offshore.) They still have some office workers in the old home town. The same is mostly true of the Porter Cable subsidiary as well. And the DeWalt subsidiary, although I think more of the DeWalt branded stuff is made domestically than any of the other labels (both cause and effect of the higher price tag).

I’m still too afraid of battery powered lawn equipment’s longevity to convert. All my lawn equipment runs on good ol gasoline
