Thank you, Mike.

I'm thinking about doing the Deavers too.

I'd like to know more about your experience with this set-up.
Sure, any specific details you're looking for? I will say I sent from icon 2.5 front /icon 2.0 rears to this setup plus Deavers and it has blown away my expectations. I rarely need to engage 4wd even in rough stuff, pretty much just on extremely Rocky terrain. Granted, 35s also help a ton, too, but that's only been in the last 6 weeks.

Thanks, Allen, but I don't think I want to go down the rabbit hole of fiberglass and/or a widened long-travel front end.

But tell me about your bumper- is it a frame-cut type?

We're only going to have 33" tires. Did you do fiberglass to clear the 35s?

What cab and trim level? Do you have the electronic locking rear differential? Ours is a 4x2 SuperCrew XL with the locking rear end.

Have you added and/or removed any weight?

What front bumper?

Pics? Videos?

Where have you arrived with the compression adjusters front and rear?

We're not looking to huck this thing at Glamis, we just don't want to have to slow down as much as we would with a stocker, and we'd like to be more comfortable when we do it. Ultimately we'd like to prerun the Baja 1000.

Did not need fiberglass to clear 35s here, but I needed 4+ inches of lift up front. I did this with a combination of a little bit of additional preload, the readylift lower shock spacer, and a good amount of metal trimming hah.

Lariat Fx4 with rear e-locker here

Definitely added weight. Besides the much heavier tire/rim combo, I have a bedrack, RTT, AFN Rear bumper and swingouts, full spare, Shrockworks Skids/Sliders, RoadArmor Front Bumper and Warn Zeon 10s winch.

I run stiff front and rear, but that's mostly due to weight, i'm about 2 clicks from full stiff rear and full stiff front.

I will say 33s are almost as capable as my 35s... main difference is in climbing over gnarly rocks but otherwise not a massive difference. 34s would be my choice if I were to do it again, but i'm already clearanced for 35s so here we are. Did add the bds rear shackle to bring the rear even with the additional front lift. 34s with a zero or so offset rim and minimal trimming might be the best compromise on the ranger if you're not wanting to cut away a bunch of stuff. I didn't cut anything structural, but there was still a good amount of support beam stuff (ie the 45 degree support of the remnant of the front crash bar) that had be heavily cut back.

Here's some pics of the setup.

I will also say, the rear leaf and suspension combo really makes the handling a million times better than stock, or even with just icon rears.... I would say critical on a 2wd truck if you're looking for maximum control on uneven terrain. You don't necessarily need to do the agp/deaver. the OME and Icon leafpacks are defintely a vast improvement off stock.

Deavers are on sell right now for 1k plus shipping on the APG website. Paid 1k up front then they called and I paid 300 for shipping. They do come with f150 raptor bump stops.

I'm super happy with mine, I'm lucky enough to be close enough to just pick them to up!

Lol yes living in texas I have everything shipped, but that's fine. The thing that does suck is like with the deavers for example, they are usually not in stock so it doesn't matter where you live you can't buy them unless you buy like a complete package from APG.

As I was typing my last reply to another forum fellow, I remembered that APG has a midrunner package deal with uppers (which you can get blue anodized and look sick), tie rod extensions, 2.5 king coilovers with compression adjusters (and the reservoirs looked finned), 2.5 king rear piggyback shocks, and deavers for 6.3k plus tax and shipping. You might already know about it but I figured it was worth mentioning because that's the way I would do a mid travel suspension and kings are backordered right now and I've heard of a 17 week to 6 month delay after ordering and APG is the only company I know that will sell you Kings right now but only on a mid or long travel kit.

Well I ran camburg upper arms and kings before I went balls deep into the build lol best upgrade was that and deavers in the rear. Bumper is cut at the frame horns to keep it as flush as possible. Still bolted on not welded.

If they have it in stock, it is a great option, the king backorder is pretty bad right now. I would have went that route had I not already ordered kings and had icon billet ucas already on the truck

Icon, APG, Camburg, BajaKits, are all great companies for uppers on a mid travel. Am I missing any others?

Is icon the only one doing billet uppers?

The apgs are billet, svc makes a billet, I think there's another that is slipped my mind I think. I don't believe they are necessary but I got a package deal

Ahh yes SVC they are well known for their raptor work and they make a killer front tube bumper, leaves a little too much exposed for me, but if they would have added a little bit of sheet metal to cover up a little bit of the front end I would have gotten that over the westin bumper.

Still, APG is the only company I know that would sell Kings right now. I see a website every time I look up king bypasses and bump stops it is called downsouthmotorsports.com anyone ever order from them or know if they have kings in stock??
