I've got a 2020 Ranger XLT with built-in nav. I've had two events in the last few days where the navigation map gets "way" off (2-5 miles), and it has me going in a direction that was about 180 degrees off. It tracked me across a local lake on the map. No error messages and no "GPS with slash through it" icon.

Each time, if I stop, shut down, and restart, it picks up the location correctly and all is well. Has anyone had this happen to them?

I noticed each time it was pretty hot outside (95+). I wonder if my GPS antenna is a little heat sensitive.

Just so you know, Waze was doing that to me yesterday. I ended up rebooting my phone and it still did it. So must have been a magnetic disturbance

I'm going to bump this up. Happened again yesterday. The symptoms are that the Nav system is tracking/moving/dropping bread crumbs, but it is way off on its idea of current location. Couple of dozen miles off. Twice it had me tracking across a large lake. Once yesterday it had me tracking somewhere there is no roads. After stopping/restarting, all is fine.

Anyone else seen this? Feels like a nav software issue.

I had the same problem in my previous F-150 from time to time. It would have me going through a corn field, etc., and would try to get me to turn where there was no place to turn. I never had it checked as it didn't do it all the time. I knew it wouldn't act up if I took it for service.

I think I found the true meaning of the abbrevation SYNC. :)
