on Truck U was they were commenting on how great the new UCA was because it had a grease nipple.. Every classic car I have owned I made a point to replace ball joints with sealed units, the OEM ball joint in the ranger is sealed. so why all the sudden is having to grease ball joints externally a good thing again?
My take on the difference is in sealed joints as they wear all the particulates from wear only speed up the process of failure. Being able to grease them helps flush out the particulates and add fresh lubricant to slow down said wear.

I went back to double check. Don’t know if it would make any kind of difference, but my level kit is a Rough Country 2.5 inch spacer kit: https://www.roughcountry.com/ford-leveling-lift-kit-50100.html?find=2019-ford-ranger-4wd-740016

Dustin, I have the same RC 2.5" level kit and mines been good with no issues. I think Phil is correct that the installer might have done something wrong. I had mine done at my local Brakes Plus shop but the manager there is very experienced in this and off roads himself. I also knew a couple Jeep friends who've brought their Jeeps there so I felt confident they were going to do it right.

Now almost 2 years later everything is still good and I stop in there every so ofter and they check my alignment and front end and it's all still GTG. You might want to have another shop take a look at things and get a second opinion?

I don't run a sway bar and I can go way faster on turns that I couldn't on a stock setup. But I do have a wider stance with long travel control arms and a higher spring rate on my coilovers with compression adjusters.

I am going to throw out my random thinking after having just installed the Fox/Ford Perf coil overs.
Seems I read that the Ford variation is a 2" vs the std Fox is 2.5". having said that I just saw an episode of Truck U where they lifted a new ranger 3" . Anyway, in that episode they cut and modified front gearbox mounts to lessen the angle of the CV joints, they also replaced the UCA.

SO, my rambling curiousity is this, is 2" about the limit of lift without doing any other modifications? is that why the FORD branded Fox kit is only a 2" rise?

I dont know the answer to that and am open to thoughts. Mainly because this has me thinking maybe I should invest in better UCA's even at a 2" lift?

I will say that I had a bit of a struggle getting the stabilizer bar link back in the knuckle. maybe it was because both front wheels were hanging?

another funny thing on Truck U was they were commenting on how great the new UCA was because it had a grease nipple.. Every classic car I have owned I made a point to replace ball joints with sealed units, the OEM ball joint in the ranger is sealed. so why all the sudden is having to grease ball joints externally a good thing again?
I think you can get away with 2.5 spacers but may need bolts with additional camber adjustment. Any more than that you need a UCA kit.

Replying to the original post, but I also had a (right) sway bar link fail, at about 58,000 miles. I have a 2.5" level kit, too. I wouldn't be surprised if they're related.

I also have the Rough Country 2.5 Level Lift and have had no issues. When my friend did the install I believe he swapped the coilovers from left to right to help with seating the springs. He finished up with an alignment and I am happy with the lift. I hope you get it figured out.

Yeah I’m at 64k right now. Went ahead and ordered some “heavy duty” adjustable links from Whiteline. Installing them Weds or Thurs and driving to KC Friday, haha.

Yeah, I did the same thing. The first one dying in January was probably usage and mileage. I bet this latest one was a freak accident.
