Stolen tail light thread

Here's what I did. I went ahead and changed out originals for Anzo's. Why? Well, think of it. It's hideous, ugly, gross....you name it. So.....who wants to steal

So... without further ado .....

Before you ask......no, my originals are not for sale. If I ever decide to sell the Ranger...I can put them back on if the new owner doesn't like the Anzo's.

And they work differently from the OEMs. The amber turn signal on the OEM is now the brake light. Think of the 2014 Mustang when you apply the brakes. Everything is the turn signal. It doesn't go bright dim bright dim. It's bright dark bright dark. I like it. ?

I pulled the inspection panel to see what might work and I have a simple idea, just need to find a thin piece of aluminum to prototype it.

guess you could add some style an security with a "shaved handle" tailgate. Remove the handle all together an have it open by remote. Downside is it would cost more than a few sets of tailgates.

A while back I made this blocker plate to stop the screwdriver move.

That is definitely one way to do it. You could drill a hole through that piece to accommodate the key lock cylinder function and still prevent the screwdriver move from reaching the goodies. The idea I have is a bit more simple, but I need to get a prototype built to verify functionality.

Those actually look pretty good and since they don't have an outward indication that they are Bliss equipped, a smart thief might walk on by.

The problem with a deterrent that is not on the exterior is that the thief will still attempt to gouge around the handle. With an exterior plate they will give up right away and move on.
