But it would be worth it. F crooks
Yes, like the "olden" days....
Lop off the offending appendage......
Steal something....a hand...
Run from the authorities....a foot.....
Rape.....well, you know....

And, no "moans n groans" from the bleeding hearts about it being "inhumane"....

Those are probably the stolen ones.
we should actively work to low ball these guys and get them to drop the price down to under $50. keep asking for lower prices and backing out, then when they advertise for lower, just keep repeating.

Well, ratchet up my paranoia on stolen taillights ...

I have a tailgate lock McGard thing and "tamper proof" torx on the lights and I have an XL, so no LED, no BLIS, etc.

BUT at 5:45 this morning, our neighbor across the street and only 10 feet from our street light, called the cops for someone lurking around the back of his truck.

Nothing is gone but he has a Lariat and, from the F150 forums, it's like $3,200 to replace and reprogram them. I don't know if that includes replacing wiring plugs if they just cut them on the truck side of the connector.

And, to make my paranoia worse, Cheech didn't even bark! LOL, maybe he only protects Soupie!

@subquark - It sounds like your neighbor was getting cased and the thief might come back at a more unpredictable hour. Calling the cops is fine but they aren't likely to post a stakeout so it might be neighborly of you to advise your neighbor to add some extra security measures.

Sleeping on my waterbed in the back! Except it's frozen, so not a great place to doze (and Cheech won't share his schmancy custom bed in the rear seat!). =D

And you're right - we all know SuperCabs are for us SuperCool peeps! =p

Good call, he said he's putting in motion lights. But it's already pretty bright under our LED street lights, bright enough to read a book!

But as fast as it is to steal them, I'm not sure much will deter a prepared thief. I need to put a spiky collar on Cheech and make him sleep on the tonneau cover.

Interesting....wonder if totaled vehicle VINs are reported so clean used parts can be reused
Over here insurance companies must report totaled vehicles to a national register, above is one reason for it, another was to prevent dodgy body shops buying two totaled vehicles and building one unsafe cut'n shut vehicle out of them, and a third was to stop people buying a wreck at auction and transferring the vin plate to an identical stolen one, and re-registering it interstate as "repaired"

We had a Jack Russell that would jump up and grab you by the nuts shaking side to side if he didn't like you ?. He was one tough little dog that was not afraid of anything. His attitude almost got him killed a couple times.

String one of these across the back of the truck. Whether you use a flashbang or buck, hey that's your business.

Thanks for the link, but I'm wondering if they are the same diameter for a Ranger?

I tend to think that they are, but $15 for 4 tamper-proof torx head screws is a bit pricey, even if they are made from stainless steel
Checked on the Light Keeper screws for a Ranger and got this response from Jimmi Jammer

Hi Deny,
Thank you for reaching out regarding our light keeper for the ranger.

We know the ranger uses a different screw size than the F-150/f250. If I recall correctly, we checked the sizing and it was an oddball size that we don't make. In order to come up with a new size, we need very large volume to justify the expense.

So, at this time we have no plans to make a light keeper screw for that vehicle. Sorry it can't be of more assistance.
