Like most; I was not fully satisfied with the stock stereo on the rangers. I had the option to add the B&O of course; but truthfully that system also does not impress me for the price. So im wanting to hear and see what everyone else is running for their systems.

I personally am looking for simple door speakers and tweeters. Plug and play set up. I ran the simple kicker upgrade and tweeter swap out on my 16 tacoma I had done and then I ran a kicker hideaway sub in the back panel. I did have an aftermarket head unit so that made it easier. I do know (I believe I read somewhere) that there are adapters for plug and play into our stock head units. I am not a wiring guru so plug and play is a huge plus for me, especially since I plan to keep the stock head unit.

So: what door speakers does everyone like? And what sub?amp are you running? and do you have links for it all as well as any PnP adapters.

thanks!

Really interested in this as well. Would be into doing it as a cost effective plug and play upgrade if such a thing existed.

Interesting question. I have a SCAB and wasn't able to get the BO upgrade. Frankly, I am not disappointed with the stock stereo. But, I'll watch this thread for information.

This was recommended to me for my B&O system, but I think it would work for the none B&O systems. It allows you to keep the factory head unit, but change everything after that.
I never bought one, too expensive for me.

I have seen this as well. As nice as it is, way too over priced IMO. I can wire it up on my own I just want the easier access and not splice anything if I don’t have to. I have a friend who may be able to make some adapters. I reached out to him

Just another incredibly super average dude
I'm looking to do a complete head unit stereo swap. The system in my Lariat is completely bland and uninspiring. I was shocked (for a Lariat) that this would be the upgraded stereo, but apparently it's just a base unit, not even having navigation, or anything desirous in a stereo for that matter..

I'm presently in "research mode" and investigating what options are available from Pioneer, Kenwood, JVC, Sony, and Infinity, to name a few. Looks like you can get some really great features for around $350-$500, The next jump in price ($500-$800 and up) include additional features like GPS/Navigation, remote control and a few other minuscule features that really don't seem to tip the scales in favor for the added bump in price.

One thing I've also noticed, is to keep care attention to the negative feedback of some of them, as I see common theme on many that are supposed to be "next tier" level units. In many cases, it seems like the mid-range units offer everything most of us are seeking and have stronger satisfaction ratings.
