So my great curse is while I'm cruising the internet I see things and then immediately think of unintended ways to use them.

Here's one example: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JGRM89V/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_Z3CAZKNXSWBCX38YJZXZ

I've always found that operating auxiliary lighting no matter where you position your switch box is not natural even though some positions feel more natural than others.

I'm surprised to learn that there is basically at least from my cursory glance at the internet no company that is bothered manufacturing some sort of device / button that goes on your steering wheel that way you can turn your light bars or whatnot on and off with the same natural is turning your high beams on and off.

Now of course technically through a relay you can probably hook the trigger wire to your high beam wire but for whatever reason I think I would want to keep the two functions separate.

So using something intended for an ATV or motorcycle that attaches to the steering wheel and looks kind of cool you have three options;

1. Find some sort of wireless version. Unfortunately at least as far as Amazon's concerned I cannot locate something like this. I'm guessing you'd have to piece together the proper wireless receiver parts for one end to connect to your button wires and the other end to connect to your power wires wherever they may be. The only wireless kids I can find for auxiliary lights are all basically tethered to a remote they come to which is no good.

2. From my understanding the buttons on the steering wheel are able to exist because of a copper ring of some sort in the steering column so that an electrical current stays constant even when the wheel is rotating. I'm not embarrassed to say I never really thought why steering wheel button wires don't get tangled as you're using the car and that explains it.

3. The most straightforward way to do this is to attach some sort of solid bar right behind your steering wheel on the column it extends out kind of like your turn signals or your windshield wiper handle extends from it and then Mount some buttons to that. This is the most simple way to do it but it also Lacks overall finish as I think it would look kind of neat to have some sort of paddle-style buttons that you could operate while keeping your hands on the wheel.

What do you think?

Pardon any typos or words that seem at a place I am using text to talk.

Your speech-to-text is very good. Maybe voice controls are a better direction than adding switches to the steering wheel.
