Thank you!Hey Hickesy:
END OF ROAD Original Quick Fist... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CQPANY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
These were pretty cheap with about $3 worth of hardware from Home Depot. The top screw needed to be about 1" long while the bottom screw mount needed to be about 2.5" long.
Thanks Duke!Great purpose-driven build Matt. It sure looks like you’re getting some fun adventures out of it. Looking forward to your next mod and more pics of your outings.
GFC - I’m green with envy - very cool indeed. Keeping the Decked system? Thanks Duke!
The end state of this build was originally to go for a 4Wheel Camper Fleet model, but the cost and trying to make the weight work with occupants and fluids; I've pivoted to a more obtainable option: the Go Fast Camper. There are a few guys on the forum who have them on the supercab's; they look rad!
End of 2021 mods are LED swaps for the bulbs and white Ranger lettering for the grill.
After that it's honestly dialed in which is a far cry from my classic rover ownership.
Yeah, part of the deciding factor is the ability to keep the Decked system in place without any modifications.GFC - I’m green with envy - very cool indeed. Keeping the Decked system?
I think that’s going to be a great combination. Half the battle is having a great storage solution. Looking forward to more adventure pics.Yeah, part of the deciding factor is the ability to keep the Decked system in place without any modifications.
This video (albeit on a Tacoma) shows how the Decked and GFC work together:
Thanks for posting, I might do the same. How long was the USB cable?Last mod of the year (hopefully)! Installed a Garmin Dash Mini 2 camera on Steelie Dan. Wanted to get something on the incognito side that would provide insurance in the event of an accident.
Routed it from the left side of the rear-view mirror, tucking the cable under the ceiling trim.
Routed the cable down the A-Pillar to the edge of the dash panel on the right side. Interior removal tools were very handy to wedge the cable in between the plastic trim pieces.
Tucked the cable in behind the door seal (easy trick I learned from the We-Boost install a few months prior).
After the door seal I decided to route the cable behind the bottom of the glove box, by wedging it behind the trim piece in between to create a clean look.
Below is the zip-tie wiring for the excess cable being stuffed behind the center console next to the heater exhaust vent.
Since I have an XL model, my center console only comes with one USB port, figured this would be a great spot for it until I can get the wiring harness to have the Garmin linked to the battery for better power management.
The last pic is the finished product with the installed dash cam!
