Here's a better, cheaper, easier way to do it. It's actually totally free. There's a plug on the ground terminal. Unplug it. It doesn't affect anything else. Here's the video. Skip to 6:20 to get to the actual trick. I luckily came across this video before I spent money on something we don't need.

Unplugging works well, but many people are nervous about unplugging the cable. I personally don't see the issue, but everyone is entitled to go their own way. That's the spice of life and what makes the world interesting.

Pulling the cable will throw an error code, and the BMS resorts to the old charging strategies used in the 4G Ranger. I tested it with same day identical drives comparing charging patterns between my 2005 Ranger and my 2020 Ranger. The patterns were identical, but the 2020 charge voltage was .2V higher than the 2005 Ranger. My 2005 Ranger came equipped with a flooded lead acid battery. I believe that the AGM batteries charge at a slightly higher voltage. Hence the difference.

I personally find pulling the plug as a perfectly acceptable free option.
