Being able to set your expectations makes it so much better for both parties.I am at a point in my life where I can factory order my new vehicles and pay cash for them. When I send out requests for bids for a new vehicle, I include the following:
I will only accept the vehicle as it was shipped by the manufacturer; I will not accept, nor pay for, any dealer add-ons such as vehicle identification number etching, window tinting, upholstery coating, wind deflector, car alarm, pin striping, security tracking device, wheel locks, nitrogen for tires, etc. I will not accept the vehicle if any wiring has been cut, tapped into, or modified in any manner.
So far, I haven't had any issues but if the above happened, I would walk from the sale.
When I found my truck at a dealer an hour away, I talked to the sales guy and said I would only come up and make a deal if he promised none of those ridiculous shenanigans would take place. When I got there, the truck had just come off the vehicle hauler and when I picked it up later that week, he had been true to his word.
I’d buy from him again and happily recommend the dealer.

My '19 Ranger had all sorts of ADM's from Peoria Ford that totaled just under $3,000.
