I have not gotten the chance to do this, but now im on 33s im not sure if i could take a taco from the dig haha i have not gotten a tune yet either. So i would probably get beaten by a stock taco or maybe stay right beside it. At least im not running E rated but still quite heavier than stock tires. In my eyes, running 33s are still worth it!

Drop it in S mode and I bet you'll still smoke one. I had a 2016 and trust me they're gutless down low and don't start making any kind of power until 5,000 rpm's. It'd be even better if you had a rear dash cam to see how mad he is as you blow him off. ??

I wasn’t looking for it but obviously he was. I was pleasantly surprised by my truck’s performance… I told my wife and she just rolled her eyes saying “don’t with me riding “… she’ll never understand..

This is one reason I check the weight of every tire I consider. My little ranger is no rocket but with a 93 tune it's good enough to keep me from dropping cash on a V8 mustang (again). I'm looking at some 32"s (255/75/17) that weigh 41 lbs an I think that's pretty good. Standard load rating though which is fine with me for my use.
The day my son purchased his Ranger, we test drove a used 2020 Mustang GT with the A10 and the Ecoboost Mustang with the A10. That Mustang GT was a rocket. I was totally impressed. It was noticeably faster than the 2017 GT I used to own. If I had to guess, the 2020 GT was close to a second faster 0 to 60 than my 2017 GT. I would not be at all surprised if it was 2.5 - 3 seconds faster than my sons Ranger. For what its worth, the Ranger did feel faster than the Ecoboost Mustang.

I had a 2014 Tacoma prior to the Ranger and there is no way that it would even be close. My Tacoma was a good truck but it was far from quick, just made a lot if noise when I jumped on it.

I guess I still need to run my 2011 Tacoma against my sons Ranger. The Ranger may win, but it is going to be close. I can tell you that the 4.0 v6 in the G2 Tacoma has no problem beating a G3 Tacoma in a race.

You are kidding yourself if you think a Ranger is as fast as an Ecoboost Mustang. We are talking about a truck that weighs 1000 lbs more and has less HP than the Ecoboost Mustang.

The Ecoboost Mustangs with the A10 tranny are dipping into the 4 second range 0 to 60 and are very high 12s in the quarter.

I traded a 17 Ecoboost Mustang with a 6 spd manual for the Ranger. While the Ranger is quick it is no where close to the Mustang.

if you haven't made the switch to premium fuel yet I'd highly recommend it. Once I put on my 33's I did and it makes a considerable MPG difference as well as SPG increase.

Have the livernois tune but not installed yet... apparently I dont own a computer capable of downloading the software (admin rights on work computer)

FWIW : 2014 Tacoma numbers

2019 Ranger numbers and some comparisons. Its safe to say, claiming a win over a Taco isnt a hard thing to do. There shouldn't be any trophy's awarded or much gloating. it's like Micheal Phelps beating a starfish in a race. Unless you mess something up, the Taco's will always be behind you.

And the difference is “one thousand one” to sixty. I would have thought more than that.

I've had a few guys want piece after I put the 33's on. Mine are E rated and I'm on a stock tune. Still no problem.

haha! I've not gotten the pleasure yet, but I did see a white XLT scab on a test drive a few days ago, and I sped up beside them but didn't get a chance to give a thumbs-up or anything before I turned off and they didn't see me.

I look forward to the day that someone wants to show their junk and then burn them. I am not 'that guy', but I still look forward to it, cause I can. Love me the ranger.
I had an English guy about 30ish in a Land Rover try me a few months back and we stayed neck to neck and at the next stoplight he complemented the truck for its power. He was amazed when I told him it only had a four-cylinder in it. That man had respect for an American truck and for his Elder.

I can’t believe you guys get this excited over outrunning a notoriously slow vehicle.
True, but I think it’s more about spanking the driver than the truck ? that $h1teating grin when they get too cocky next to a Ford 4-banger…. Priceless….
