Honestly, who even has those metal coat hangers anymore?
Whenever I come across one, I squirrel it away in the garage for situations exactly like this lol.

Dealership Tech’s have their clean uniforms delivered on wire hangers! At least when I used to work at one. Plentiful! Lol

I've looked for them in the past but couldn't find any. I could've used one a couple weeks ago when I locked my keys in my Jeep

In my defense.. the description in the Ford Accessory guide doesn't say Touch Link anywhere...

You sir are correct! All is forgiven heh. Strangely enough it also says, "no drilling required". They done goofed.

Here are the 'DARK" pics.. I'm PLEASED.. the side mount tool box blocks a little light but can be swung out and you can see great.

@ulev1st did it say anywhere in the materials what the color temperature or kelvins are of the LEDs? Looks 5000k-ish to me, but I'm pretty much sold.

EDIT: I also just realized something... What happens if you turn these on and forget to turn them off? Are they on a timer or will you awake to a dead battery the next day?

So much for the Ford description on the lights being tied to the key fob and interior lights. Might have the dealer install mine. $250 and all those pages and routing to do seem like overkill for lights that just need to be attached to a 12 volt power supply. Has to be more than that. Will get my dealer to install them and then explain to me how they are supposed to work...lol! They do look good turned on in your pictures. I have a Bakflip MX4 installed with the factory spray in liner and the Ford rubber bed mat.

Easy way to check--can you try turning them on in the morning without turning on or unlocking the truck? If they come on, it suggests there's the potential for some sadness.

I absolutely love the swing out tool box.. perfect for my application. I keep a Smittybilt recovery kit some tie downs, clevises and gloves. Keeps stuff from being on the floor of the bed.
I turned on the lights this morning..they didn't shut off in over 20 min. Never started the truck. just dropped the tailgate and turned them on.. probably need to be mindful of that.

If there is a way to run them with the key fob it is not shown in the directions. Keep in mind the directions are PICTURES ONLY with no narrative. Perhaps the dealer has some insight to the key fob deal. However with these lights its just a 12v pos and ground sooooo….

Make sure to let us know what the dealer said...hopefully they have some insight..
I'm on a limited budget so the shop fee for a two wire hookup was not an option for me..
Let us know if the dealer knows the key fob function. that would be nice to have.. The only way I know to do that would to be to splice into the actual truck harness and not having a wiring diagram that wasn't something I could do.

The dealer is sending the kit back and reimbursing me the money. It appears you're paying $250 for a light kit that works when you touch the light itself in the bed. Not what I wanted. Touching base with f150leds.com as they make bed light kits for the F-150 and indicate that other vehicles might be able to use their kits. They work the way I want them to. Just need to see if they will work with the Ranger. Will post back here if I get the right answer. Will be a lot cheaper.

I already contacted F150leds.com the kit you need for a 5 ft bed is the F150 2009 kit. Good luck.
