Wondering if anyone can share what they have done for transporting skis (besides having them sit in the open bed)..whether it be a rack or cross bars or any other setup. I am interested in seeing if anyone has any unique products or setups or links to previous threads where these are discussed.

I live in Colorado and will be using the truck to commute back and forth from Denver to various ski resorts across the state.

Thanks in advance

I've put together this package from Stage3 that will work with my roll up tonneau. Big sale at Stage3 today gets you this kit for about $100-150 less. Under $500. Haven't pulled the trigger myself just yet ($500 is still a lot to haul around some skis and some bikes) but I'm seriously considering about it.

I have a Thule Pulse Alpine, which has 4 internal clamps that attach it to any typical rack system. I picked it specifically because it was the smallest width and height while long enough for my 210 cm skis.

External dimensions are slightly over 2'w X 1'h so half the width of my
Prinsu Roof Rack. Four pairs of skis inside and snow boards fit in it as well.

I can also mount it to my FrontRunner tonneau cover racks. which are much lower than the roof. It is easier to access because it's lower and improves aerodynamics, but over hangs the back of the truck.

Here it is with 4 Tred Pro board which are ~12"x47", and a bunch of recovery straps/ropes. Perfect low volume carrier.

Thank you. This is kinda what I was thinking of going for.

I also have a Thule box from a different car that fits my skis. I'll have to look into the FrontRunner Tonneau cover racks.

I have Billie Bars for the bed and a Thule rack with t-slots. Mounting up the Thule this week, as we just got it Friday.
Awesome. Please share a pic when installed.

I have a soft tonneau cover so I'll just throw them in the bed & let them bounce all over...

I know, no help at all.... ?

nice setup. I used to live in SF/twinpeaks with a similar view of Sutton tower.
I just traded the SCAB for a SCREW so I’ll be moving it over to the shorter bed…hopefully will work just fine.

What Xtrusion rack height is that. I think its 16" from top of bed to roof.
I think it’s 15” (too late to go out and measure). I do remember I went back and forth on the ‘right’ height. With this height I can slide my mountain bike backwards into the bed (seat removed) under the rack. And the skis stay just about equal with cab height. May also get a roof top tent for it too.
