Hi Joe,

Good luck with this thread.....WHAM! The sound of the screen door slapping your a$$ on your way out. What is your goal with this post as you must know the answer is Ford will not pay you squat. Dealer...maybe to placate you, but not Ford....By the way....the shocks work just fine..

Glad these forums allow you to post your whine... Let others chime in...you are a minority of which seem to be overly vocal....

Might I suggest you turn in your Ranger for $$$ to the Dealer and go buy the TACO and suscribe to Taco World...

Phil
Phil, out of curiosity do you happen to know the manufacturer of the fx4 shocks? id guess they are well know name but, branded for ford. Thanks

On my '21 Lariat, first thing I noticed on the test drive was the floaty ride, especially the rear.
First week of ownership, I had all 4 struts/shocks replaced with Bilstein 4600's.
Night and day difference and it makes me appreciate the truck even more.
Should Ford reimburse the owner? No. They did their job installing dampers in all 4 corners.
As far as how stiff someone would like their ride to be is up to the individual.
If the stockers were leaking, defective that is a different story

Nope. I assume you test drove your truck prior to buying it, as did I. Ford gave me three suspension options to choose from, just like they did for you. I chose the one that I liked the best for my needs, as one would think you did as well. If you made the wrong choice, why would Ford be responsible for fixing that for you?

No big secret that Ranger shocks are little more than pogo sticks. To add insult to injury, these trucks are priced at a premium and have been decontented year after year.

*****************************************

Should new Ranger buyers negotiate proper shock absorbers into their sales contract?

Should people who have already purchased new Rangers and replaced the useless shock absorbers sue Ford for reimbursement?

I spent $985 to replace my low buck, bottom dollar, useless shock absorbers/struts 'out of pocket'. My 3/36 is up next month.

*****************************************

Opinions please. Stock Image: Bilstein 4600 OEM style shock absorbers.

I do kinda feel like Ford should step up and give a fine fellow like myself some major discount on a #19 pkg, that would come with the engine cover and glove box damper ( the only acceptable place for a damper ) and the console tray and bezels and all the other goodies they kept , just to much ammo for the 19 owners , and they ain't NEVER gonna let us forget it... I feel it a little with my hood strut advantage over lowly 22 owners...

Nope. I'm not afraid to ask the questions everyone else is afraid to ask. 'Screen Doors' and everything else.... :)
FX4 package is known to be bouncy on the road. If you test drove the truck and the shocks aren’t defective you don’t have a chance to get anything from Ford. Either sell the truck or replace the shocks with something better.

Either way you should be enjoying your truck like most of us are.

good luck…..

There has to be some kind of logical explanation why the OP has been so angst.

Most people would have just posted "The factory shocks suck, so I bought some better ones" this has turned into something worse than the Friday night posting drunk thing.

Maybe his personal shock has gone soft and the only bouncing he got was from his Ranger, but now he doesn't even get that ?

I know...... completely uncalled for, maybe it's just anger over what he paid for the new ones, or the maybe the more obvious............ the booze is leaking out of him all over the keyboard.

Wait, there I go again, I would really like to apologize, but damn, gotta call a Bozo a Bozo.

Hi Mark,

I cannot say for sure, but I believe they are Monroe. Monroe also markets under the Rancho brand as well...

Best.
