Picked up these LEDS for low beam. LEDs are not lining up 3-9 o'clock. More like 4-10 o'clock. Looking at the reflector, it looks like it really needs 3-9 for proper reflection. The ring will come off but only tapped in one spot. Not really adjustable unless I drill a new hole in the mount ring. The 9005 High Beam lined up properly.

Anyone had any similar experience? I will need to get some better night time pics against a wall.

Yes, this is typical with the low beams. Fogs will line up good also. Ford designed low beam housing at an odd angle. I think it has to do with clearance for the connector. I had the same issue with the JDM LEDs I'm running.

I would suggest you get some night time pics with the OEM bulbs, this will give you a reference point to start from. Put in the new bulbs, you can then judge how good the cutoff is. My JDMs were quite good even without being able to adjust the angle. You can then adjust the lights to get back to the original cutoff hight.

Lots of good info on headlight in this thread

I'm about ready to replace the whole darn unit! Why?

So far, I've tried three different after-market units, and all of them skewed the pattern really badly. All one needs is to get a traffic ticket because your headlights are adjusted correctly!

Did you ever get around to doing the nigh time photo with the S1 Low beams? Did they finally line up and what the light pattern?

No, the low beams don't line up correctly. I took the ring off and drilled a hole to get them lined up correctly. Unless you want to do that, I would just buy a brand that lines up correctly to start or that are adjustable.
