RSI Smartcap Overland Build - Operation Overload

Well changed my overlanding/camping setup once again by changing from Diamondback Tonneau cover to RSI Smartcap. I have a RTT and a DYI plywood slide /camping storage system from before but now with the cap and all camping /photography gear i found i am Just under 100 lbs of GVRW max of 6050 lbs! So if i take a passenger or the two dogs and don't lighten the load i sure will be overloaded… Sagging around 2” in rear which made me notice - ride wasnt bad but but did wallow a bit on dips on highway and now with tent above the roofline the gas milage dropped considerably- next move - loose some weight in drawers slides and will trip a set of Timbren SES dampers

Good question - I think I used 3 sheets of 3/4" plywood minus some scrap + one 44" HD locking slide so estimate storage slide around 180 - 200 lbs? Tent is 156 lbs and RSI cap - 200 lbs - and haven't even included water.... time for some load shedding redesign

Decked? It's a good option. I have an RSI smart cap and I decided to get their full length bin. It works out great especially with all of the MOLLE panels for mounting bags to for the EVOa cap. I also have the built right panels in the bed. With all of these mounting points I did not need a drawer system. I used 3/4 ply as a base so that I can bolt items to the bottom like a fridge slide and milwaukee packout mounts. It's a nice way to pack so that I only carry only what I need when I need it. No extra weight for different loadouts (Daily, Work, Camping)

i dont think the decked system is much lighter though considering added a sheet of plywood to bolt it too - i also have the full bed rug so that may have to go - have you ever weighed it with full load?

No, I don't have the Decked system. I didn't want the loss in available height. The plywood is just a good way to secure large items. I have not weighed it fully loaded for camping. I have changed my setup a few times that it's tough to keep track of weight differences. I did install OME leafsprings to prevent sag. It rides so much better in the dirt too. I'm guessing that I'm around 650 - 750lbs fully loaded.
Fridge, Plywood, Smart Cap, Tent, Accessories and camping gear including water, gasoline and propane.
