Morons!

I went up and test drove the 25 2.7 L Supercrew (gray one) .Smooth engine, slightly wider. Exhaust is silent. Nice infotainment display. Puny tires and wheels.

We'll see how much they try to r@pe me on trade value. It won't break my heart to keep my truck!
I tried to get one this morning as a loaner but I got stuck with another F-150.

And don't worry. Dealerships are only interested in happy customers. Not gang raping your life savings in an alley behind a 7/11.

Those are sexy! :sunglasses:
My current 4 pod set up will burn your retinas out.

These 2 pods are 3x's stronger.

I am pissed that one of their most expensive light sets doesn't come with block-off inserts,,, to prevent the inner side shooters from blinding the driver.

Auxbeam told me to cover it with black electrical tape.

?‍♂

F'ing amateurs !

I'll get some black vinyl wrap and cut out something better than F'ing electrical tape.

I even offered to design a solution to fix that problem. The said, "We don't need anything like that." I guess those dicks were right because I bought it anyhow.

Just think, if the airport runaway lights go out your truck can help!

When I say 3x's stronger....
...that's what I meant.

Those original dual 4" pods were BLINDING !

I can't wait to see the photos & videos to compare these new lights to my old dual pod set up.

...once I get them installed.

Then,,, I just need these wired up and I'm all set. The last 9 lights. Then I'm done. I swear.

...unless I can't shake this itch to fab up my own dual fog light mounting brackets. Im pretty sure I could cut up these Raptor brackets and make a secure mount for a pair of 3" LED Cubes. It couldn't hurt to add another 19,200 LM to the front output (for a total of 129,200 LM).

If my math is right (which it probably isn't),,, the auxiliary lights are 10x's more powerful than the factory headlights alone.

Plus, another 16,200 LM at the rear of the truck (50% brighter than the headlights).

Check out this video. 4.5 sec 0-60

In other news, The whole transmission 10R80 drama is freaking me out and making me want to look for a new truck, but I don't know if I am worrying too much about it. My transmission seems okay. (30k miles)

Today I looked at a Gladiator Nighthawk, but they're just too damn ugly. Bronco 2.7, I just don't like how it looks. Nissan, just no. So it's back to a Ranger or possibly a Colorado, which the more I learn the less I like the Colorado (even with the more powerful 4 banger, it's still slower because it's heavier?) , so in reality it's a new Ranger or keeping my truck. My truck is peppy and 'fun'.

Is the concern over the 10R80 over blown? I bought an extended warranty but through the dealer, but after going through the paperwork it says it doesn't cover 'modified' vehicles, and I bought mine with the lift already installed, so it may be worthless! ...%%@# dealers. (It is through Centurion, platinum wrap. $3883)

1) the 10r80 gets a lot of shit but really,,, we only hear from the complainers.... the people who've been F'd by the weak aluminum drums. But the people who've experienced zero problems don't post articles to say, "my transmission ran fine today".

2) Ford started using transmissions with the upgraded hard anodized drums in November of 2022. My transmission was built in June of 2022 so technically,,, I have a ticking time bomb. And the Sky Is Falling ! No problems yet. And I really don't expect any. But I do have a shit-ton of transmission parts saved in my ebay basket just in case.

3) they can't say shit about the lift. They would have to prove that your lift caused the transmission to fail. If that were true,,, ALL lifted trucks would fail. That would be pretty difficult for them to argue given Ford's well known history of transmission failures.

4) considering your shopping list,,, nothing on it makes me hard. I would stay with Ford. Avoid Chevy's at all cost. I've broken ever one I ever touched. I (imho) would enjoy spending the money and building yours to your liking -OR- go with the RR or 2.7L Ranger.

5) no matter what you get,,, you're gonna want to personalize / customize it eventually. What's the factory and aftermarket support like for those other trucks ? The Rangers have a lot of options. Most Ford vehicles are highly customizable. I've done a lot of cool shit to mine and I still have a long way to go. Upgrades for Ford's are plentiful.

6) yours is peppy & fun. Mine too. I look forward to getting in it and going "anywhere". I wish driving that truck was my full time job. But,,, I've driven a bunch of other vehicles that just don't strike the same cords. I'm in a new F-150 loaner truck while mine is in the shop. HATE IT ! ....by comparison. The F-150 is actually a great truck. But it pales in comparison to my Ranger in every way imaginable. Do any of the other vehicles tickle you taint like that ? I wouldn't want to drive anything that I don't obsess over at least a little...

7) as for the video,,, Jeezus Krist ! I thought my shit was fast with a 5.15 second 0-60. Maybe if I had smaller/lighter tires & wheels plus injectors and a turbo upgrade...

Why is your truck in the shop? I don't recall seeing that post!

I wish there was a figure my odds of the tranny failing. My 'sweaty' scenario is that my transmission fails, and my stupid warranty company denies it because some of some b.s. ..then I will be pissed out of my mind. If I trade.. a local ford dealer only really offered me 25k. , even though KBB says 28k for good condition, another site I found said 25k though. (Unrelated, my boss's Tahoe tranny just went out at 60k miles!)

I could get into a 2.7 for $16564 (including doc) after my trade.. I drove it, it was quite boring because of no exhaust and standard wheels/tires, no lift, but of course it has potential.

https://www.woodhousefordomaha.com/...-ranger-xlt-4wd-super-crew-1fter4hp2sle14659/ (this is the one)

The additional 3k off thing seems to be a gimmick, as the number doesn't add up and they danced around it when I pushed. So, really only 25k for my truck in trade. The $16564 is the best they said they could do otd. no one around here has 2.7L Rangers, which is probably why.

Just found this, I wonder if it will go anywhere.

1. Seat belt winder is a pussy and doesn't retract the belt without assistance.
2. Passenger rear window is sloppy. Probably a broken track.
3. There's a trim piece with a discoloration they're gonna replace.
4. The plastic cowl trim piece at the bottom of the windshield has a broken clip that's getting replaced.

I had real transmission concerns until my recent tune update. It shifts really smooth in sport mode now. It's way better than the factory shifting ever was. I feel like it has a better chance for survival now. It doesn't feel like the transmission is under any stress at all... no matter how hard I push it. I'm gonna stick with my '22. Mainly because nobody has offered me $58k for it and I don't think anyone ever will. But I do plan to occasionally keep my eye open for a deal on an uninjured transmission from a wrecked '23.

My installer had a cancelation !!!

All I have to do is get my truck out of dealership prison 1st thing Monday morning and drop it off at the shop.

I'm gonna beg him to wire up as many of the lights as he has time for.

There's only 9...

I want this project over with already !!!

...so I can move on to installing 3 separate train horns. The 2 electric horns will tie in with my factory horn. The spare tire delete kit (actually 4 horns) with a 15 second blast time, will work off my switch panel... for the morons that can't drive right.

Nice news! If I do end up keeping my 2020 I will be upgrading many things. I hate the situation I'm in, or at least, the one I've created in my head haha
