Hey Jack,

I like the idea of extra storage as much as the next person. When I’m working out of my truck, having certain things handy can be super helpful.

Your experience at work is likely what drives your thinking for this idea and I’m sure you‘ve given some thought to the items you‘d mount there - when you have a passenger and when you don’t. No rocket launchers, bayonets or Claymores when your wife’s in the car - that’s what Plano Tacticle Rifle Cases are for, amiright? ?

Anyway, it looks like you might consider whether stuff would get in your passenger‘s way when getting in and out, especially if the seat’s pulled forward. Also, if it didn’t work out, is the experiment worth the price of a new panel?

Observe where the airbag goes as it deploys. It folds down over, and in front of, that silver dash panel. I guess as long as whatever you put there wasn’t too thick (stuck out too far) it wouldn’t impede the bags travel too much.

I can’t believe the Safety Committee is on board with this though..

Bag may deploy down and over the panel, but would you want to be the guinea pig to test it ? Anything in that close proximity might just be propelled in front of the bag...up-down-forward...who knows ? Is it worth the risk ? Would you place your wife/son/daughter in the position of finding out ?

safety committee?
on board?
what exactly are you reading there Mr Harris? or or you just creating your narrative to troll again?
Must have missed where you enthusiastically and endlessly condemned it.. God knows when the SC condemns something they make 243 name-calling posts about it.

It doesn't look like it would directly interfere with deployment. I'd be more concerned with whatever is behind it getting hit by fasteners during the install - I'm sure it's not a hollow space. And then the eventual prospect of selling the truck - fewer visible holes left over are better. What all are you trying to mount up?

So many logical fallacies occurring now. Oh well.
I have a suction mount on the left side of this panel you're referring to Jack...they hold a couple of small monitors...not worried about them at all...

That said, I'm sure your cruiser has a whole lot more none OEM equipment such as a laptop and the monster floor mount they're mounted to, short rifle(s) and host of other dangly do dads like coiled mikes and body cams...have you ever heard of injuries caused by these equipments?

Hope this officer wasn't hurt after this crazy flight...

I've seen lots of posts on here of people putting charging pads in that try an laying their phone up in that area too. That video doesn't show the air bag covering that area at all to me but I haven't had my annual eye exam yet this year.

I guess we can figure out who is talking out their ass;

To answer someone else's question, another location to put RAM mounts for some specific low profile items.
Aack. Trauma seeing the pretty new truck with dummies exploding. . Necessary evil though.
