**Review** Wolfbox 4-in-1 Jump Starter with Air Compressor Tire Inflator

I received my Wolfbox 4 in 1 Jump Starter with Air Compressor a few days ago and finally had time to try it out. At first glance it comes very well boxed with a nice case that stores everything neatly inside. I really like when a company includes a hardcopy manual along with a quick guide manual instead of having to look everything up online. The unit is extremely nice and heavy duty weighing in at just under 4lbs. It’s solid and doesn’t feel cheap like most other jump starters do

One noticeable feature is that all the controls are right on the front making it very convenient and easy to access.You’re not fumbling around looking for them on the sides of the unit like most other jump starters are. The only thing that would’ve made this better would’ve been having the buttons backlit. The LED display is huge and very easy to see and read in the dark which is where you’ll most likely end up needed it at one time or another.

Another really nice feature is the auto air stop. You set your desired psi which is adjustable from PSI, BAR, KPA or kg/cm by pressing the psi button and it’ll stop at that setting and has a max setting of 160 psi. No watching gauges or having to look at the TPMS sensors then adding more air or taking it out because it was overfilled. I let 10 psi of air out of a couple of my tires just to test this out and it filled them fast and they were all at the set psi which I double checked with the TPMS sensors and my tire gauge. You can also toggle through different modes from car, motorcycle, bicycle, ball and custom modes.

It took about 2.5 minutes to fill it up to 40 lbs. Usually it's 39 lbs but my tires were still warm from being out earlier so I added an extra one.

I didn’t get a chance to try out the jump starter because I don’t have a dead battery. lol The cables are very heavy duty and are just over a foot long so they’ll be easy to use if/when you need to jump a vehicle. The clamps are also heavy duty and have very good spring retention on them, they’re not falling off!

The last features are the LED light & USB A and USB C. You can charge your phone or tablets from here and once a device is removed the unit will auto shut off in 90 seconds. The LED light is bright and will come in handy if needed at night and especially seeing as our Rangers don’t have a light under the hood. There are 3 modes which are constant light, flashing and SOS.

Overall this is a very high quality jump starter unit and I’d highly recommend getting one if you’re in the market for one. Plus Christmas is only 5 months away so this would make a great gift. I've had a combo unit from another manufacturer for years now and I adore it. It's so dang handy. Having it in my truck I use it to blow up the kid's toys and everything. Living in SNV I have never used my jump box on my own vehicles but I've used them on so many stranded strangers and co-workers! Makes me feel like a good boy scout.

The jump starter I have no doubt will work like a charm. You hook it up, start the car, unhook the battery. Really that easy.

Does it normally take a long time to charge? Mine was showing 3 bars (out of 4) and it took over 2 hours to charge. I know it's better for the battery to slow charge but wasn't sure if this was normal.

Do you check and recharge after so many months and if so is it noticeably low or just a quick top off? I have another jump pack and my power station which I top off every 90 days. The jump pack takes about 20-30 minutes to show fully charged.

I was just curious what to expect from this one. It's much bigger and heavier duty than the one I have so I'm assuming most of that is the battery being larger. TIA

Hmm, @AzScorpion I didn't really pay attention. When I got it it was fully charged and after topping off air in 8 tires it still had a full charge. Sat in wife's car for about 5 months and took it out to blow up beach floaty for grandkids. It had three bars and after I was done plugged it in but didn't really watch the charge time.

My old jump pack in the truck takes a long time to get to 100% and is due for a charge. Reminded me it's probably been 6 months since I pulled it out of the truck.

Not much help!.

@AzScorpion - this is a WAG but since it's essentially a huge battery I would imagine they limit charging so that the pack does not overheat. Usually big batteries with fast charging have cooling fans. Mine is also slow to charge but I only charge it every 3 mos. or after I fill up all my vehicles tires when temperatures change. Usually after 8 tires mine is half discharged. Interestingly - to me at least lol - after a few jump starts it says it's still full but I only have "4 bars" I don't have a % readout on my unit.

Thanks Steve & Adam! I kind of figured it was a slow charge and I can't remember how my other pack was when I first got it years ago. I set a reminder on my phone for every 90 days to check my power station and jumper pack and like you said it doesn't take much if you're just topping it off from sitting. This one also uses bars and it had 3 bars when it arrived and who knows if it was at the top or bottom of the bar?

My power station has a cooling fan and I just had it with us today. We did a Costco run and were out all day and it was 111* in Tucson so I could hear it running behind my seat using my 12v cooler.

I have the same model. If you just use an ordinary usb-a charger, the charging rate is 18 watts or less, a phone charger could be 5 watts, so it’s going to take awhile to fill up the 24 amp-hour battery. If you use Wolfbox’s charger or a different 65 watt usb-c charger it will charge more quickly.
