Removing the whole 3rd Brake Light Unit?

I'm replacing the whole 3rd Brake Unit with a Smoked LED one. I need to know if anyone has removed or knows how to remove the whole 3rd Brake Light unit? I read something about the connector being under (above) the headliner? Is there a way to reach it without having to remove the headliner at all?

I would appreciate any help whatsoever?

Remove the screws from the outside. Once the light assy is out, the the wire runs inside and is behind a piece of tape that blocks off the opening. Push the tape in and you can reach the plug. My wire was also attached to the sheet metal with a retainer clip. Pry that out and there is plenty of slack.

Awesome! Thank you! I couldn't find anything from a Google search... It was all about changing blown bulbs.... I should have the new light this weekend?
