I have a question regarding recovery points. Are the front factory tow points (black hoops) on my xl sufficient for recovery? Also is it ok to use a bow shackle on them or would i want to use a soft shackle or another rigging system? for the rear, I don't currently have a hitch or tow hooks in the rear, Im thinking a e-trailer hitch receiver and shackle hitch will be my best rear recovery option unless anyone has other ideas maybe bolt up the F150 tow hooks and use those?

Hoping to tap the collective knowledge here as I build and prep my truck recovery kit and ask all the dumb questions here so i can avoid the dumb decisions out there. Im not completely unexperienced in the matter, I took a Bill Burke recovery class where we went and buried a bunch of 4x4 ford vans to the axels in Anza Borrego in 2019 and then learned to recover. It was a lot of fun, but i haven't had to put any of it to use in my van.

My kit is similar but I have 2 different lengths of shovels, cribbing, bottle jack, trolley jack, and at least 100' of multipurpose rope.

I gave up on the come-along after the first time I tried to move 4400lbs with it. I'd prioritize the winch installation.

The front tow points are 100% up to the job for pulling you out.

Definitely don't rely on the OEM scissor jack. I recently picked up an 'off-roadified' bottle jack for peace of mind.

Any bottle jack will out last/perform the factory jack, but I went with SafeJack as they include some nice pre-assembled kits geared specifically for offroad use.
Thankfully haven't used it yet, but it all seems very quality and they are highly reviewed.

The simple starter kit, linked below, is more than I could imagine ever needing.
