You make this forum what it is Dave! A willpower crushing, damper and graphene pushing addiction. BUT that's a small price to pay for the friendship, knowledge, and the incredible beauty in the pics people post of the wonderful places we have here in the US.

The agonizing months waiting for a truck that I never test drove were made bearable by all the information I learned here. By the time the truck arrived, I felt like it was already a comfortable part of my day-to-day life. And that's because you, this forum, and so many members are what made my Ranger so awesome.

It's not so much the truck, but all of you that give the truck its heart.

I deeply appreciate all that you do Dave and you're incredibly good at being the moderator. You keep us on a positive path (yeah, there will be gum getting stuck to our shoes - graphene helps with that - and maybe even a rusty nail with the possibility of tetanus) but you veer us back to the high ground (extra appreciated by those of us with only 2-wheel drive).

This forum is the nicest I've ever been on and a lot of that is the behind-the-scenes stuff that you, and others, do. Not easy tasks and mostly unnoticed. But that's the sign of a true professional, you make it look easy and manage to also keep us all happy. Well ... almost all of us. And those that want to poop on this path, well, they can go poop elsewhere and I'm glad you can show them the door.

And lastly, don't worry, I'm starting to load up for a dump run this week - friggin' asphalt shingles weigh a zillion pounds ...

Oh wow!!

Did notice you gone dave and thought

Hmmm. Hes been gone a while.

I had no clue as to what was going on. You do great work and are really involved. I have even interacted with other members as to ranger things. This place is great.

Next issue.......................can we just call it a tailgate strut assist!!!????!!!!

Sounds much more manly.

Thank you everyone for all the kind words and the encouragement to come back. I honestly didn't make this thread to be about me but to try and shed some light as to what's been going on, what we all do here that many don't see and to move past what has just happened. RP was "controversial" at times but was a long time member and I didn't want any more disruptions in future posts going forward. In other words please refrain from bashing him or anyone else as it doesn't do this forum any good.

Also I posted this in the thread below. Many aren't following it so I'll repost it here because this really is a special forum and a great family we have here!

https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/thre...ive-thoughts-needed.19543/page-13#post-461338

Posts and threads like these make me proud to be on this forum! I know most of us have never met and maybe never will but the bond here is really something special from any forum I've ever been on. It really is an honor and a blessing to be part of this family we have here. They say the Jeep community is tight but they don't hold a candle to what we have here. God bless you all and thanks for making this a special place for all of us.
there you again, a slow pitch

Just caught up on this mess. IF I remember correctly reading a post a while back you two were going at it. Being Polish it didn't click that you were not posting but I did notice. Just figured you took off on a desert adventure had no signal, got stuck & was waiting for your new Bronco to come to the rescue. All in all great job & keep up the good work. :like: :turkey::tumbleweed::turkey::tumbleweed:

The bed rug is a God send to me. I tossed asphalt shingles in there and don't care about all the grit they drop. I'll just use the leaf blower when it's time to clean it up. That really does a good job for me.

I did pressure wash it once, mainly because the pressure washer was new and I was looking for stuff to do with it. I have yet to shop vac it, it's mainly twigs and pine needles so far.

And my knees thank me when I'm packing gear in.

Ed Zachary about the knees. This is my fourth truck with this. Not for everyone but perfect for me

No it doesn't. How manly is it to need help??? Not very.

But damper? Works in various situations. To slow the tailgate obviously. And there's a classic Dad style joke in there somewhere... "Damper??? I don't even know 'er!!!"

how about some naner puddin'? had some of that last night after dinner...
If I had never seen your location, I would have known you were in the south my friend. "Naner puddin'" is a delicacy here. But only if it is made with Nabisco Vanilla waffers.....any other brand is sacrilege (there I go, starting another controversary for Dave to handle). :giggle:

Only another southerner would understand that nuance Nate. :)
