Rear windows down front up usually causes harsh harmonic buffeting and droning with SUVs...never tried it on the Ranger...does this happen?

Yes it does. I'll put back windows down for my dog and if I don't crack the front it is bad.

For me, the window deflectors eliminated the buffeting issue and make it possible to leave the windows down a bit unnoticed when parked.

Every car I ever had did that. Always crack both windows on one side and it won't happen. Get good air flow that way.
I find that catty corner works best for this.

Buffeting, I usually get it when just one front or just one rear are down. I don't get both rears down as this is suboptimal for good airflow and you have air fronts colliding entering the vehicle. If you want interior airflow, like when you pass gas and want to clear it fast, I have found the best option is open the front and rear on one side a little or a lot. Never got buffeting this way. I really don't understand the gripe. Vehicle designs are so different. If you experience the pulsating buffeting, don't use the windows in that particular configuration. If you like both rears down and get buffeting, just drop a front window down a little.

Thanks for the info. Doesn't seem that there is much interest. I have developed a plan for a DIY effort ... that should be interesting:cool:

I don't live near Lancaster, but I did propose a valid question amongst all the derailing.

Do these just wedge into the window track after rolling the window down and back up into it? Or are they hard mounted behind the window allowing the window to still function normally?

They set in the window tracks and held in place by window. Thanks for asking:like:

Looking at these they appear to sit in the track and only be held in place by the window and it's upward pressure?

Is that so?

Kinda janky if it is. Proper window vents should sit behind the window allowing the window to be rolled up with out removing them.

The reflection of the siding of that building gives an illusion on the glass.
