Good Morning everyone, I am new to this forum as I am a new owner 2021 Ranger Tremor. I have been in contact with Billetworkz in Lancaster, PA. They make very cool accessories for a variety of vehicles including rear window vents. They currently make them for the Tacoma but not the Ranger. However, they would make them if they had access to a Ranger and three people committed to buying them. So, if any of you are in the Lancaster area and would be willing to let them have access to your truck for a couple of hours whey would make them. I have attached a photo of the Tacoma. I have these in one of my STI's

That's more a rally car car thing than a truck thing.

Never actually seen that on a truck.

Could help with the way the Ranger buffets air with the rear windows only down though.

Why are all Fords so damn bad about this?

Every car I ever had did that. Always crack both windows on one side and it won't happen. Get good air flow that way.

While that might provide better airflow, I just prefer to roll just the rears down in a 4 door.

Yes every vehicle will do it. But Fords are much worse than any other vehicle in my experience.

Our Escape, my FiST, and my Ranger were/are exponentially worse than my wife's CX-5, and our older Subarus.

There has to be something in the way Ford designs the cabin or something.

Looking at these they appear to sit in the track and only be held in place by the window and it's upward pressure?

Is that so?

Kinda janky if it is. Proper window vents should sit behind the window allowing the window to be rolled up with out removing them.

Perhaps, but you have two colliding wind fronts so it would be hard to design that out. I would think.

Welcome to the Forum Joe and congratulations on your Tremor.

I like the FJ 40 you are using as your avatar. I brought one new in 1978 and sold it in 2012 when I purchased my Jeep. I sold the FJ for more money than I paid for it. :like:

It’s just modern automotive design. The design is to be “slippery” and not just a wedge pushing air out of the way. Now that everything has A/C, premium sound systems, noise insulation, etc - it is anticipated the windows will be up most of the time.

Why is Ford worse than everybody else at it?

And why even make windows that roll down of that's the case?

I guess it’s subjective. My buddy has a new GMC, and I find it really bad - worse than my Ranger. I regularly drive around with my windows down, no issues until I get up to highway speeds.

I haven't had a GM product in 20+ years and never had a 4 dr one. Could say on them. Perhaps it's all Americsn manufacturers that fail so miserably on cavitation.
