Take a look at Rockwood, most are coming from the factory already set up with solar and room to expand to two panels. These are the two I was looking at the 2205S being my first choice. There's another member here who has this setup and says it tows perfect. I have a couple good Youtube videos on these if you're interested let me know and I'll send them to you.

Those are great floor plans, unfortunately, I need a Bunk House. Still have two kiddos to tag along. :) Very similar specs though. Are those both tandem axles?

Yes they're both dual axle trailers. Funny because it seems like there's so many that have bunks and we really want one without and these two fit the bill nicely. Take a look through the Rockwood website I'm sure they have bunk house models. Good luck!

my family and I grew up with Airstreams. we took them all over the usa. Over the years we have had about ten of them. many different trucks used to tow them over the years. from one ton cummins trucks with heavy duty everything to an old 3 on the tree chevy. the worst setup was a 25 foot double axle excella model and a 1998 gm half ton with a 350 vortec. its been too long for me to remember the weight of the trailer but it was not too far off what some listed in this thread are. it was a well balanced trailer. the problem was the truck. if one compared the specs of the late 90's - 2000s half ton trucks with the v8, to the new ranger they are close in terms of power and weight. in fact, if your ranger is tuned it may have the upper hand in terms of horse power by a fair amount. so my point in telling all that. sure it did it and had no major issues, but it was also a handful. long sweeping curves felt like the aft end was gonna step out on me, good wind gust or a tractor trailer passing fast and I was white knuckled on the steering wheel. a mountain road would get the butt grabbing the seat cloth. it always felt just on the edge of not having stability and control of the trailer. yes that was with sway controller, dist hitch and so on and hooked correctly. the smaller truck just did not have the same secure planted / grounded feel pulling that our bigger trucks had. we towed that same trailer with a 2500 long bed 454 gm for a short time before selling it and it was a huge improvement. more stable and control of the trailer felt great. most of the trailers i saw on the list are the more boxy style and they will hang on the wind. I have no doubts that the ranger can pull all those down the road. But, the balance and feel while doing it may not be as enjoyable compared to a wider heavier pickup. any chance the dealer would let you hook up to similar models as the ones being considered and take it for test drive?

I am a little late into the conversation but I do love Rockwood (since they were brought up). That hitch weight on the Jayco seems pushing it for sure.

I know this is a bit of a different trailer but the Geo Pro 20BHS is smaller than the Jayco but would be much easier to tow. Rockwood quality has been awesome. It is a single axle trailer but much lighter than the Jayco. I do recommend a WDH as well. I tow a Geo Pro 19BH and love the experience.

I added 1" wheel spacers to my Tremor and it improved the stability when towing in winds. It was mostly for cosmetic but I was hoping to gain some towing stability. Seems like I got both things I wanted.

We have a Forest River Surveyor 201RBS.

Ours is about 4200 UVW and about 5500 GVW I haven't weighed the tongue weight on a scale but I suspect its about 650-700 Lbs with the weight distributing hitch installed. The Ranger pulls ours like butter!

Hey Guys, Gals,
I am finally in possession of my 2021 Tremor. (LOVE IT) Now I am looking at Travel Trailers and found a couple I like, The one I really like may be pushing the specs a little tight. Wondering if you folks towing out there can give me a "You should be Fine" or a "you crazy man" opinion. :)

Im looking at a Jayco Jay Feather Micro 199MBS...
Length 23'2" Overall
Weight UVW 4660lbs
Weight GVWR 5750lbs
Dry Hitch Weight 660lbs

My biggest concern I think is the hitch weight being close to max. Once Propane is filled and add battery it will likely be close to 700.
Will the use of a weight distribution hitch help offset this or am I just pushing to close to the limits?
I dont want to be driving down the road with my bumper dragging and I dont want to be dangerous.

The other Trailer is 3930lbs Dry-4995GVWR and 395 hitch weight but 3 feet shorter. The bigger will really be best for my family but looking for some advise from Ranger towers out there. I live in MI and would likely be traveling from MI to FL (So some mountains) and East Coast.

Thanks in advance.
I tow a smaller version of that trailer, a Highland Ridge Range Lite Air 16FBS (which is a clone of the Jayco Jay Feather Micro 166FBS, the next size down from your 199MBS). Specs below:

Dry Hitch Weight (lbs)440
Unloaded Vehicle Weight (lbs)3,830
Cargo Carrying Capacity (lbs)1,165
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (lbs)4,995

My Ranger tows it great. I have a 6,000 lb Fastway E2 WDH. Granted I have only towed 200 miles, but most of that was through the Cascades. I averaged 12.8 MPG according to the truck. Not bad considering I was crossing mountains.

I would be concerned with the tongue weight of the 199MBS. You are pushing the limit. A WDH will add ~100 lbs to the hitch weight.

I"m guessing the next size down for you is the Micro 171BH? I have a friend with that trailer. All of these series trailers are awesome, about the best you can get for a single axle. Not to spark a debate, but I believe the Feather Micros are nicer than GeoPros and other options mentioned. Some of the Rockwoods are nicer, but you are getting bigger with that. Between my friend with the Micro 171BH and myself with the Micro 166FBS (mine is a carbon copy made by Highland Ridge, manufactured by Jayco), I can give you an idea what to look for on your delivery inspection. I am happy to talk. My wife and I took about 3 hours to thoroughly check the trailer prior to driving home. The manufacturing is so rushed and hit or miss, you'll want to chat with me before you pick it up. Good Luck, Ed :)

Here is my setup. Note that I have since lowed the hitch ball height to level the trailer. The dealer did a half ass setup :(
