I purchased my Ranger to be able to haul my recently acquired dirt bike. I've got 2 pair of Rhino Straps on they way. Now I'm looking at ramps. I came across the Ready Ramp that doubles as a ramp and a bed extender. Curious if anyone here has had any experience with this product. I spoke with someone at the company, 1 hourish away, who happens to live 20ish minutes from me. He offered to meet up at some point over the next week so I could take a look at it since it's not sold through any retailers. Talk about customer service.

Anyways, anyone using this on their Ranger?

FYI, these are pictures from their website...

Not me but I'm interested in what you find out. I like how they fold flat for transport. The biggest PITA with ramps is where to put them.

I like it! main reason i got a super cab was i can fit a full size dirtbike with the tailgate up. But that is pretty awesome

Watching this thread. I may consider selling my motorcycle trailer if a reliable easy loading method appears.

Something that I have a preference for however, is the ability to ride the bike up, and that requires a full width ramp. (or you risk becoming a youtube motorcycle loading fail video) So while what you posted is a nice concept, I don't like having to step up on a cooler or something while pushing a bike up. I would prefer a ramp that is 4 feet wide so I can ride the bike up, and one that folds up into something reasonable. Not a small request and not cheap either.

So I look at the cost of this thing, and I pretty much say to myself screw it, maybe I'll just keep my trailer.

Dont forget the low weight rating on the tailgate when driving large bike up ramp.

Same problem here. Need to load 350 lb bike without dying or becoming permanently disabled. Narrow ramp walking up is problematic due to muscle power required and need for 6 foot long legs. Riding up ramps is a problem at the beginning when front wheel starts up and your feet no longer reach the ground. Engine stall here is deadly, only avoided by increased approach speed which was fun with 220 lb MX bike when I was 30, not so fun with 350 lb bike at age 75.

My cunning plan is slightly wider ramp and small winch so all I have to do is steady the bike, no push or ride.
I used one of these ramps with my 850 lb BMW on a trailer and found it to be strong enough and durable despite coming from Harbor Freight. My big concern is ramp angle and high centering at the top, but we'll see when I get that far. Just wish this truck wasn't so damn tall.

Good point. What is the weight rating of the tailgate? Maybe I should not even be stepping on it, hahah.

On the plus side, none of my bikes are over 400 lbs. most are in the 250-300 range.

Also remember, in a ramp situation, the tailgate never bears the entire weight of the bike. At most only half the bike's weight.

How about this?
Bosski RevArc Aluminum Ramp and Steps Motorcycle Loading System
Only $220 at Discount Ramps

Seems suitable for dirtbikes and smaller bikes. It would help diminish my fears that the cooler or toolbox I have to step on while loading my bike might slip out from under my feet and then I fall and the bike comes crashing down on top of me and I lay there with a broken leg and punctured spleen.

I'm hoping to possibly meet up with him tomorrow and if I purchase it I will post some pics and a quick review.

Happy New Year

Update: Picked up the ramp this afternoon. Busy day but I hope to have some time this weekend to load the bike, take some pics to share of course and give a rundown. That being said, this thing and the owner both look solid. Met up with him at a local shopping center and he took a few minutes away from his meal to meet. I should mention one thing, I do think this was a one off. So if you are near this company, please don't request/expect this. Anyways, I'll share some pics this weekend...
