  1. This Is What My Ranger Thinks About...

..."Stay At Home" orders on Easter weekend
  2. Dealer installed alarm hardware found!

So this morning I called the SWDS, South West Dealer Services. I was able to get a technician to call me back. This is the company that installed the alarm. He said the normal procedure to remove the alarm was to remove the t-taps or unplug them, leaving the t-tap and some integrity of the...
  3. Dealer installed alarm hardware found!

Well today I received a call from the company that installed the alarm. He left a message asking me to call back so they could schedule a time at my house or at the dealership to remove the alarm system. I also have a call into to Ford customer service. Apparently to speak to someone in the...
  4. Dealer installed alarm hardware found!

UPDATE!!... So I received an email from the sales guy last night... Hello, When you did your paper work with me there was a Sheet of paper marked Alarm and I explained to you we add an alarm to all of our cars to prevent theft. You actually signed this form that you were aware of this...
  5. Dealer installed alarm hardware found!

I do realize that I can be a bit a prick when undergoing my daily vitamin treatment, a.k.a. wine. That being said, I would like the truck back to factory new condition and realize it probably won't happen by being nice...these are car salesmen we are dealing with. Oops, sorry...salespersons.
  6. Dealer installed alarm hardware found!

It is a Karr alarm system. From what I can gather online, it seems it adds a shock sensor...at best. All for the low low price of $795. Here is the email I just sent to the General Manager, General Sales Manager, Sales Manager and Sales Consultant... Management Team, I am writing this...
  7. Dealer installed alarm hardware found!

So this morning I'm vacuuming the truck and noticed an "item" that did not look right. I knew right away what it was, but I was in shock that I missed it. I turned down the up-sell alarm when buying the truck and it did not even cross my mind that the hardware was already installed. I can live...
  8. What did you receive in the mail today for your Ranger?

Well, I didn't exactly receive them in the mail, but I picked up my OEM running boards today. Ordered over the phone at 7:30 am and picked up after work. Using my 42000 Fordpass Rewards points, the boards set me back only $155 OTD!
  9. Look at my Ranger parked next to stuff

On Route 66 at Papa Joe's Diner. Unsure of this place from the outside, Sunday's all you can eat steak AND ribs sealed the deal.
  10. Place for Photography

Yes, definitely similar. But at 9300 ft elevation it prolly sees much more snow. At 5500 ft, Saddleback may see considerable snow 2 twice a year at best. At only 25ish miles from the ocean, it's a nice surprise when it happens. Thankfully these towers need maintenance...gives us more trails to...
  11. Place for Photography

These aren't necessarily great photos, but they were taken last weekend. If anyone knows the OC, then they know we don't really see snow too often. Well, 2 weeks after a nice storm, there was still a bit of snow left on top of Saddleback. I couldn't resist playing in it. Sadly, I did not buy the...
  12. Place for Photography

Yeah, I'm not really a desert person. Joshua trees aren't too inviting. But in SoCal that's a good 75% of the areas to ride.
  13. Ready Ramp...Is anyone using this with their Ranger?

I finally got around to loading the bike. As far as the quality and fit/finish of the ramp I must say I am more than happy. It took a few attempts to get the bike in but that's because I am stubborn and lazy and refused to run and push it up the ramp. By adding a 2nd smaller step in front of the...
  14. Place for Photography

From last summer at El Mirage. As a ginger, finding the only shade for 20 miles or so was critical for my survival. I prefer the cropped black and white.
  15. What is everyone paying for their 5th Gen Ranger?

I still get a smile each time I think of this text. So for a week or so after purchasing I was still getting texts and phone calls from sales guys inquiring if I was still interested in a Ranger. With most, I politely told them I had made a purchase. This guy, caught me at just the right time. I...
  16. Ford Lowered their Incentives on the Ranger

Agreed. Anyone with decent credit and half a brain will finance elsewhere. If I am correct on the manufacturer to dealer incentives, this interest rate for the less sophisticated allows the dealers to offer deeper discounts. There will be people who finance at 8.9 for 7 years, but will feel...
  17. Front parking sensors...an unanticipated must-have

I was thinking of doing this myself in addition to the sensors. You must be really smart! ;-) WARNING: DON'T DO THIS IF YOU HAVE A POST TENSION SLAB
  18. Ford Lowered their Incentives on the Ranger

Yup, glad I purchased 2 weeks ago. Here's my take on what Ford may or may not be planning/offering. The 2020s are now, or will soon be, filling the lots. Now that it's 2020, the focus needs to be on the 2020 trucks. Ford offered up some pretty good discounts directly to the consumer via the...
  19. Front parking sensors...an unanticipated must-have

In an ideal world, I would have purchased an F150 with a bed large enough to carry my dirt bike with tailgate closed. Well, this ain't an ideal world. I live in a detached condo with no driveway. While street parking is an option, it's not convenient. So to fit in the garage, my only option was...
  20. Ready Ramp...Is anyone using this with their Ranger?

I'm hoping to possibly meet up with him tomorrow and if I purchase it I will post some pics and a quick review. Happy New Year Update: Picked up the ramp this afternoon. Busy day but I hope to have some time this weekend to load the bike, take some pics to share of course and give a rundown...
