We received another 4” of snow overnight. I opened the garage door so the Ranger made it into the picture. Every day after chores is ice fishing day. We are also keeping a path through the snow on the ice, snow free, so that when we bring the ice hut out, it will be easy moving, also to keep any deep slush away and also hoping that the ice will freeze thicker without an insulating layer of snow on the ice.

Heading to a cabin for the weekend. Dropped off the trailer and lit a fire in the stove, then had to drive another hour to see a customer before getting the next two days off. About -8 f. This photo is just after Noon. If you look close you can see the moon a little above the trailer.

How do you keep it so clean in the middle of an Alaskan winter?

Strangely enough, it’s the only time of year I can keep it clean, it’s way to cold for slush or mud here. We live on a dirt road, so when I wash it in the summer it is either covered with dust or mud within a day or two. In the winter I use Speed Shine on it about once a month.

While taking the tiny terrorists sledding today, pulled out a few stuck motorists.

The first one looked confused when I inserted a tow hook into the receiver hitch.

Possibly the first vehicle recovery by a Ranger FX4 in Europe. Take that Raptor and Wildtrack.

It might be clean but you probably have a cracked windshield. ;-)

my first winter in Anchorage was -30. I don’t miss that at all.

Why, cause I've got spray all up the side of the truck? haha I've thought about running boards, not those ones necessarily (I don't like the "flush" to the rocker panel style), but something like the OEM set. But in the end, not worth the money right now. I don't mind the spray and ice barnacles. Makes me feel proud and that I'm actually using the truck. haha
I would never be so presumptuous as to pick out a style for you. I use mine more to bang the crud off my shoes and judging from the slush on yours, you deal with crud. :)

That's one of the reasons I've thought of getting them, yeah. But after so many years in vehicles without running boards I've gotten used to just hopping into the seat and clapping me feet together before bringing them inside the truck. Just habit now so I'm not sure I would ever use them that way in the end. But definitely a good idea.

There is plenty of crud around here, yeah. The truck pretty much looks like this all year round. haha It's either dirt, mud, and/or sand in the summer, or sand, salt, and/or snow in the winter. That's why I find not much point in washing it or trying to keep it clean since it gets dirty so easy and often. I'll wash the salt off in the spring when it gets warm enough, but other than that not much washing. haha
Ha! I do the same thing. That is, knock your boots together, to knock some snow off them before you rotate on your butt in.
