Now that I have one that works it is great to have it, not nice to look at though.

Could not agree more, it sure looks hokey...something one may find at K-Mart.
So glad I was able to cancel it from my order for my 2020 Lariat.

I got the aftermarket. Stuck on the back. Gonna move it because it’s so ugly! But it is convenient on the back for loading things in the locked bed. I might move it to the right of the license plate on the black part under the key slot for the spare tire. I tried there first but it wouldn’t stick.

It definitely looks best hidden in the gas cap! I had to have the dealer to the initial programming. That was a rip off. Waited more than an hour and $75.

Anyone else come up with some creative places to put the keypad? My 04 F 150 had it incorporated into the door handle and you hardly knew the keypad existed.

anybody have the External entry keypad on their Ranger? Is it a factory option or Dealer installed option? I see wireless Ford keypads and wondrous if they are compatible if I cannot get one unless ordered from the Factory.

Yes sir. My XLT didn't come with one, so I bought it after from parts dept. ($109)
It just sticks on.
BUT: it must be programmed by them. It will NOT work out of the box. The whole 35 digit number on the included card must be input into the truck. If they haven't updated the directions since my purchase, buy it, try it in the parking lot, before you leave, so you don't have to go back. Then when it doesn't work search youtube for it and save the video so you can go back inside and tell them what you discovered online about the 35 digit programming, then they should do it for free. Hopefully they haven't upgraded the directions and it will say you can do it, but that's not the case
