OK, truth be told I only bought the Ranger as a make do vehicle until my Bronco gets here next Spring. I needed something I could tow with my M/H, so under 5K lbs, had to have decent off road capabilities, comfortable, with some 'spunk'. This actually leaves out a lot of the market. I originally wanted a Bronco Sport, but Ford decided no one needed to tow it so didn't make it at all towable. So upshot was I ended up with my 1st Ford truck, without high expectations, well, damn if I don't really like the Ranger, and the more I drive it the more I like it. So much so I am seriously considering cancelling my Bronco Badlands and putting $$$ into the Ranger. For my needs it is way more practicable than the Bronco as I am past my rock crawling days.

Same thing happened to me. I sold my commuter and bought a Honda Accord with cash to drive until the bronco came thinking I would just drive it about a year and sell. Normally I wouldn’t do anything like that financially but with the high trade in values combined with the Honda randomly needing somewhat major and expensive repairs I dumped it for top dollar and drove off in a new Ranger. I have a few dislikes with the truck that are more build quality related such as a little bit of air noise in two spots in the cab and what to me sounds like a grinding wheel bearing or brake dragging that the dealer magically couldn’t hear. I think I’ll get those resolved with time and other than that I love everything about the truck. The best part is I saved 7 grand from my bronco build and by putting about 2 grand in the ranger it will be set up perfectly for my needs.

I have a bit of air noise, not much, but haven't tried yet to find it. My truck is pretty rock solid. All door panels and seams are lined up. Everything seems to be in place. I have a 2020 10/20 build and I have the glove box light and damper (not important, but I have it) and I have the folding rear headrests after I added the mod button. The truck seems to be rock solid to me, beside the obvious stuff that I've complained about in other threads.

I'm very happy with it, and love it more every day.

Did you get a new 21 Ranger?, mine has no wind noise at highway speed, or other strange noises. (yet)

Jesse, It seems like the Ranger fits your need perfectly! It's been almost 2 years since I bought mine and I'm super happy with it.
I've been driving trucks for the past 25 years and while I do love it I really cant wait until my Bronco comes in as I think that will be much more fun off road for my needs. I've had my Ranger to a lot of different off road areas out here and while it's good I personally think the Bronco will be much better for what I do. I still like to hit rocky trials and rock crawl but nothing to crazy. I plan to keep both and hopefully Ford comes out with the Ranger Raptor in the next gen as I will definitely get that.

Dave, I have spent a lot of time out in your part of the country Boondocking, and there are plenty of good trails. I have done the Rubi and Moab when younger so rock crawling is not a big draw for me. I will just have to wait and see what happens, and how long the Bronco wait is. I could see myself with both for sure, but don't know if it makes sense or not as we spend most summers on the road and I can only tow one, with the Ranger providing room for both the bike rack and space for the boat.

The good thing is you can wait it out and see what happens in the spring. I always wanted an older bronco but they were either to beat up and rusted out or restored and to expensive. I like how they kept it somewhat retro and it has all the tech in it. You don't have to rock crawl with the Bronco but yeah the Badlands is tailored for that. You could always go down to a Black Diamond model ? I'm still up in the air on which one I'll get but it's defiantly going to be either the Base with Sasquatch or the Badlands with the High package on 33's.

Yep, my order is for a non-sas BL's High w/33's. I don't mind waiting with the Ranger to play with :)
