Ranger BOV Adapter! - Boomba Racing

I had this problem with my 91 mr2 turbo. From what I remember a bypass valve is different than a blow off valve because one is meant to be atmospheric and the other is returned back and measured by the air flow meter.

Here is a good short article I searched that explains the differences BOV v.s BPV

It also says in the article that a BPV spacer like boomba's would make a BPV 100% atmospheric without issues if not tuned and left stock.

I ran it on the stock tune with the spacer without issues for months but as soon as I put a tune in it'd go into limp mode. I'm so happy I can tune my truck again and don't have a $400 paperweight anymore.

Just got mine. No instruction guide on website yet but super easy to install.

Remove 3 bolts on top of bpv, put the bov spacer inbetween the bpv and use the 3 long screws provided to reinstall.

Sounds good but since the truck is automatic, it goes off when you let off the gas pedal under boost pressure unlike driving manual, letting off gas then shifting.

I'm happy for a $80 mod.

Got mine last week. Looks great and works great. Only disappointment is the replacement screws aren't stainless steel? Could be but they don't look like stainless.

Otherwise worth the money.

Just a FYI....I had 2 Focus ST's with Boomba BOV's and both were tuned with zero issues. Just tell your tuner you have a BOV.

I just, personally, don't see the need for one on a automatic transmission pick up....seems weird to me...but again that's just me.
