Mountune Radiator just arrived. It's considerably better built than the stock one. This thing is stout. I hope it performs better too. I have a new thermostat and about 4 gallons of coolant waiting for install
We are going to need to see pictures to see what you are talking about. If you say this because the Mountune Radiator is All Aluminum vs the OEM Plastic Aluminum build, the. The Built Better is out of the window. I have seen a few All Aluminum Radiators that seemed to be Better, but in reality were garbage and would not last more than a year vs the OEM that had no problems lasting many years before failing.

Now I have no doubt in my mind that the Thermal Efficiency may be improved as most OEM Radiators tend to have very tiny tubes vs the Aftermarket having larger tubes.

I got a new radiator from rockauto for about 60 bucks. Works great, can’t tell a difference. 9” lift and towing 4500lbs daily.

9 inch lift?! Towing 4500lbs! I think we need pictures to understand what is going on here.

Welp, I got the Radiator installed. Labor was $500. Considerably less than what the stealership was charging. I did not want to do the work myself as I've never done a Radiator before. Time will tell if it makes a difference. I also had a new thermostat installed.

I have a trip coming up in two weeks where I'll be towing my trailer. I bought a scan gauge so I need to install that. Hopefully I can tow and run the A/C!

Well I bought the Mountune Radiator. Now I need to find a shop to install it. Mountune is about 45 minutes from me so hopefully shipping is quick. Total was $357 with free shipping and 10% off code.

To give additional feedback on my setup here are some contributing factors.
  • Fox 2.5 suspension set at roughly 1.5 inches above stock
  • 650lb coils up front - up from stock 550lb springs for the Fox 2.5
  • 33" Wildpeak mud terrains. I prefer KO2's but I got this set for free so I can't complain....although my truck complains. These tires are heavy!
  • SmartCap EVOa - first edition with roof rack
  • Roam 95L cases on top of cap.
  • UptopOverland roof rack above cab
  • Big ARB bumper
  • Warn Winch
  • 55l fridge in truck bed
  • Dual battery system with 100ah Renogy battery in truck bed
  • 1000 watt inverter, and accessories also in truck bed.
  • OME heavy duty leaf springs
  • Air Lift 5000 air bags
  • Hiker Trailer - Extreme Offroad with 33" all terrains. (approximately 3000lbs fully loaded.) Dry weight is 2200lbs
Sounds like right off the bat you are overloaded. Pickup only holds 6050lbs. Pickup stock is 4800 pounds, so 1250 cargo, 500 worth of family, 700, 300 tounge weight so you are only left with 400-300 of cargo. Winch, fridge, cap, extra battery, bumper, airbags, aftermarket springs, roof rack, all gotta be below 300 to 400 lbs. Plus anything else you carry in the truck. Then you tow, so you carry overweight and tow putting all the extra stress on the truck.
I have towed overweight before, 6500 on my truck and an 8000lb trailer. Well part of that weight was tounge weight. 500 miles in texas. All in the same state of course.
You might want to check on weights. Just a thought after seeing your setup. Cat scales can provide peace of mind, and be eye openers

Any updates on how the radiator is doing?

Deltapag package. The no way the stock system can turn it on. Lol at my thread and you'll see how i ser it up.
Can you link your post about the fan setup? Maybe it is because I am on a tablet but it is not easy to find.

Now that I have the Mishimoto radiator on the way (first one got ship damage), I think an electric fan would come in handy for stop and go or the many red lights I get in Vegas. Off-road too should help as well.

I guess it really depends how the truck acts in different conditions. When I had my 2019 I didn't have issues with the Engine running hot with the exception towing up a very steep grade once. Beyond that it did just fine even OffRoad. That said I do feel there is a better solution to the good old electronic fan clutch Ford has. Even GM couldn't get the. To work right.

How did the gearing work out? Curious why you are selling them. I have paused on gearing since I have been so split on finding a shop I trust. I might do the big front brakes next before gearing because of that.

Curious price and how they worked out though. DM or link your post if you have them listed.
Mine is going back to ford so it went back to stock. They worked exactly as they should with bigger tires. Driveability was better than stock. The front and rear axle are complete with the e locker on the rear ready to bolt on. You can swap both axles in a day.
