Just something to ponder.

I resigned myself that the potential of of a ticket isn’t worth the time saved aka ROI.

So as I’m 114 days and a wake up to retire, what’s the hurry. Sorta like Alfred E Newman, “ what, me worry “

Full disclosure, I had a Valentine One and I’m glad I sold it.

I think that's a prerequisite here running yellow lights. I don't think I've ever NOT seen anyone stop for one. It's so bad in my area you really need to wait a few seconds after your light turns green because there's always someone going through in the other direction.
Must be drivers from an east coast state that rhymes with Massachusetts ???

I have several thousand dollars of active and passive jammer/reflector equipment taken off of my old ranger, and waiting for software updates from various manufacturers so that they are compatible with the new ranger. All of this is totally hidden within the bumpers, grill and body. Install is challenging because all of this has to be tuned based on the vehicle configuration and shape, using actual law enforcement devices to set everything properly. The external collision sensors also pose a problem with interference and Im hoping they will not have to be made inert. Im hoping within the next few months I will have a stealth ranger again. We will see. ?
Damm, just get a AN/SLQ-32V3 installed ?

I did three deployments on cruisers with SLQ-32 systems on them. 83, 84, 93. I don't recall what update they were on. I saw an old investigative news report on how the active side didn't work. In fact it worked to attract a missiles in active mode not scramble/confuse them.

I don't remember what state it was but there was a manufacturer of those electronics that was in the back pocket of a state representative I don't remember what state but they were handing out dozens of these tickets and they had the timing of the light they changed to take the picture too soon and found out that company was crooked and they were in the back pocket of state representative giving Kickbacks too it's a big scam I think it's on escorts Radar's website you can read about it
I read an article about this. I believe it was in Car and Driver magazine when red light cameras were first appearing. They reported on traffic cameras in San Diego. They said it was for safety but people would panic at the yellow light an slam on their brakes an get rear ended. Then people started stopping in time an there wasn't much revenue from the cameras, the city and company split it so they looked for ways to increase it. They decided to shorten the yellow light to 3.5 seconds from 5. This might have been the one you heard about.

How fast are you folks driving that a radar detector is needed?

In 30 years of driving I've never seen a need for one. Sure I've gotten popped once or twice, but those were usually deserved.

Around here 10 or 15 over won't get you pulled over. I see no need to drive my truck at over 90mph down the interstate.

Last one was on a Tico class the first 2 were on a Belknap class.
I worked AEGIS 47 & 51 classes while at RCA/GE/MM/LM and currently as a DON engineer. I spent 10 years at the Cornfield Cruiser.
