Radar Detector Blendmount

That's a lot of work to go through to mod for a radar detector.
Wouldn't it be easier and less damaging to the truck to just drive closer to the speed limits?
Just an opinion from an old former trucker...

Does anyone know if you use the Bendmount wire tap will it be switched through the ignition? i.e. if car is off radar detector is off. Thanks!!

The instructions here connect to switched power

Thanks. I searched after I posted, there site was acting up but once I got on I had sticker shock... $46 plus tax and shipping. Found one on ebay plus a mount for $37 plus tax, free shipping so I went that route. It's a local sellers store with uniden R3 specific mounts.
