Those plastic fold-up stools. I have two of them and they work great. But, if not careful, they will pinch skin like crazy when you're folding. My wife HATES them. But, they do work great.

Not difficult at all. Just unlock it and lift it up off its pegs.
The difficult part is if you have a bedliner, you need to remove some of it around the bolts. I suggest using a dremmel tool to do that, but wear a good mask. The fumes from the bedliner are toxic.

That's good to know, thanks.

I don't know about y'all, but I don't want any step rail on my truck. For those of you that may have a storage box or the pivot box(like I have), I found a decent foldable step stool that fits in my pivot box. I only use it when I need it for some passengers to get in the truck.
Found it on Amazon:

Got the 9 inch model.

I have about 30 of those stools in my house. When your wife is 5'2''...

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I have and use two of these folding plastic step stools in the RV, one 3 step for cleaning the wondows and a single step for getting to things on the overhead bunk (which is used for extra storage on long trips) or in the back of an upper cabinet. Have had them for 3 years and they work fine, load rated at 250 lbs, and I am a trim 180 :) They feel real sturdy, but are made in the good old USA.

I keep this in the Truck to use as a step up for short passengers and when I need to get into the bed. It is small, sturdy, thick and easy to store (limited space in the SCab). Lots of use with no sign of deterioration :)

Yeah, I get it—don’t want a big ol’ step rail taking up space. I went with mine 9-inch foldable step stool, and it’s been a game changer. Fits right in the pivot box, so I just pull it out when needed.
Only thing to watch out for is that some of these plastic ones can’t hold a ton of weight, so just double-check the rating if you’re planning on heavier use.

Just picked up one of these. Rated at 300lbs max. 21$ w/tax and BBB coupon. I'll use it often. It's the only way I can reach the top and windshield. I'll update my post if it fails, but seem well built.
Easily tucks in the side of the bed.

Looks like a convenient stool...looked at the video of it on Amazon.
