i have the same drivers side rear axle leak, and it is leaking allot, what is the story on your issue since you have had it in the shop? i need to take mine in, dealers in Kalifornia riverside county wont come and pick up truck, where i am stuck for the time being with the lockdown. would like to know what you were told on issue as my truck after a 1,000 mile break in (now 7,400 miles on the clock) was hauling a 6x12 trailer and full tuck bed from my old shop to my new place, 8 hour drive uphill from pahrump nevada to carson city nevada, when on the flats at highway speed it would develop howl so was it the axle bearing going bad or oil starvation to the ring gear (my guess) from leaking out pulling 4 plus trips all loaded down.

It appears to still be leaking enough to be "wet" but not drip. I still go through brake rotors in under 2000 miles, so I'm still fighting with that. I asked them to clean the old grease off it so I could monitor it for leaks, but apparently they can follow instructions about as well as they can fix faulty brakes.

29K miles or so now, but I'd get your truck into the dealer and make them top it off. It's entirely possible you have permanently damaged or fully destroyed something. They would still be on the hook if they told you to drive it until the parts came in.

So in general we all knew with a first model year vehicle (US at least) the ranger could have some quirks and issues that get ironed out over time with TSB's and or recalls. We took the risk and don't regret it one bit - I love this truck!

Parts availability is another issue and I know it will simply take time for things to catch up. That said I have a tear in one of my front CV boots that is leaking grease. The tear is my fault. Local dealers parts counter says there is no stock available and no time frame for a new boot being available as ford is "looking for a new supplier!" WTF

If this tear had been caused by road debris would ford really be saying sorry but you cannot have this part???? Clearly they have them on the assembly line for new trucks??? It sounds like I may be waiting a long time at this point.

Short of some half ass band-aids I may have a new truck that I cant really drive. Due to a family emergency I was forced to just run it for a good 600 miles of interstate driving and other than leaking grease no issues or noises yet. The ride and steering is smooth without any vibration or noise.

I'm mostly just venting here as I try to guess how long some silicone gasket material and self fusing silicone tape will last but right now that is the best idea I can think of.

Anyone here ever "repair" a torn CV boot with success?

Thank you in advance for any input.

I would agree if it wasn't that the Ranger has been continued to be made out of the states. In my own mind it is Ford not stocking stateside parts that the rest of the world has. Ranger is the top selling vehicle in Asia the parts should be avalible

I have been waiting on an oil pan since March 29th. The damage was my fault, but the delay and the amount of time that the vehicle has been inoperable is frustrating, to say the least. By working with Ford customer service, I was initially able to get the part expedited, but since then it has been repeatedly delayed. The latest estimate is 5/25 for delivery to the dealer.

finally got the rear axle/seal replaced. truck sat at dealer near 2 months waiitng for parts to come in. so far so good, no leaks yet after a 600 mile or so drive from nevada to socal. will see if it stays dry now. dealer claimed with axle removed they checked ring and pinion gear saw no indication of abnormal wear or no metal in pumpkin area draining replacing fluid. the repair required them opening up the rear end. just have to wait and see love the truck just hate the lenght of time to get the parts, got the call parts were in, it still took 6 plus weeks to get the truck back, opening it up they needed another part that was on back order, fortunately i had alternate transpo otherwise i would have demanded a loander being out that long. was still not a positive experience.
