There are 10 clips, not 8 as shown in the Ford images earlier in the thread.

20190831_082528.webp
Torx t25 on each end holding the black upper piece and the silver piece together

20190831_101304.webp
Sensors with rubber sleeves removed, taped them off and painted one coat and one coat of clear coat.

20190831_110144.webp
Used wire to hang the valance from my 2 wires that the tennis balls hang from lol.

Painted Sensors.

Final results. I'm not 100 percent happy but imo it's 1000 times better then the silver.

Not true.. there's already paint on them. Just do a light coat. They work just fine.
I can confirm that they are painted. I had one go bad that the dealer replaced under warranty. I went in for my initial appt and they sent me home because the sensor only came with primer and they had to send it to their body shop to be painted

Did you paint it magnetic? Where do you get that? Ford?

I just replaced my valance with a black one from Ford. It is the unpainted black plastic, but I like the look. It as pretty easy to remove and replace once I figured it out.

Looks good, did you order it online or at Ford shop? Also did you paint sensors yourself?

Hey Tony,

Thank you for the compliments. I ordered the part through the Ford dealer. I had a hard time finding the right valance with front sensors AND tow hook cutouts in an online search. The part was $140.00 at the dealer.

Yes, I painted the sensor parts myself using SEM 39143 Trim Black spray paint. When the parts dried they matched almost perfectly. See Hot Pepper Red Zeppelin's post above. He is showing photos of painting the sensors that I did not take or show.

This is the way the lower valance should look from the factory with the magnetic trim package! I used Toyota 1E3 Phantom gray as that is the color I painted the wheels. Just a tad bit of contrasting color to make it pop without being obnoxious

This is my super wrap of my lower lip as I call it. Taped off the sensors. It's like plasti dip, but only sells on line. It's a lot more professional looking IMO, havent had to peel it so idk how easy/difficult it is. Love the results.

I kept thinking I had taken this part off before. But could not figure out why. I was looking at my truck and notice the Putco grille insert - BINGO
Link to drxns from Putco. I had no issues getting this off last time following these directions.
And an install video HERE

Did anyone successfully remove the parking sensor trim ring? I prefer to paint them separately so down the road if the ring shifts I wont get a silver smile showing.

Easy to do, but you have to remove the lower valance to do it. They snap in from the back, pretty self evident, but spread the clips and the sensor comes out the back, then squeeze the same clips and the ring on the inside that holds the bezel in places comes off. The silicon ring around the sensor can by pulled off , its not attached or glued. once you look at it you will see its ridiculously simple!

do make a note, they are handed, meaning the bezel on the right doesnt line up on the left , but if you mix them up you should figure it out pretty easy
