I would see if your seal is leaking if you can before trying to repaint it, that way it won’t happen again ideally. Wouldn’t be a bad idea after to see if you can scratch away the loose paint, sand, then use some good rust blocking/converting primer.

Good idea. I don’t think my door seal is leaking though. Never had any water on the inside or condensation issues.

Geez Andrew, that looks rough. Maybe the paint was applied too thick and it cracked as it cured.

The good thing is, it’s on the inside of a seal that seams to be okay. I would clean up those rust spots - maybe apply some naval jelly - clean it with some isopropyl or acetone and then apply some colour matched touch-up, and of course, keep an eye on it.

The good news is, it looks like you caught it before it got nasty.

Yeah if you haven’t noticed anything it was probably just a bad paint job on those areas like duke said. As long as you prep the area you should be good to repaint it. Thankfully it’s in an area where I don’t think it would matter if you just got a generic grey color if it’s cheaper than fords version
