I do R/C, both ground and air. Below are a couple recently finished and one in progress.
Very cool hobby restoring bikes and giving them to kids.I messed with old Corvette's for years, but we decided to get a new one that was more reliable. So, since retirement I needed a new hobby to help keep me out of the wife's hair. Oddly that hobby became old bicycles. Below is a 1961 J.C. Higgins "Flightliner", a 1980 Schwinn "Collegiate" I found along the way, and a 1973 Schwinn "Lil Chik" that I did for a friend. I do enjoy riding the two big bikes. There's always a lot of questions, and memories from folks you meet on the trails. I also pick up old kids bikes, refurb them, and give them to kids in the neighborhood that for whatever reason don't have their own.
Those doors look great, I also like the flag in the background.Shooting rifles (The NFA kind), woodworking, golf to name the top 3.
Thanks, I've made 6 barn doors to date. Biggest I've built was for myself and measures 9'x6'. It's my study door. Those doors look great, I also like the flag in the background.

The flag=20+ years in the profession! ?
Thanks for the shout out! That is a huge door.
Thank you for your years of service protecting us.
Just know the vast majority appreciate what you and others do every day.

Hi R,Thanks for the shout out!
Yeah it’s a beast. When we built the home, we told the builder to brace the wall in preparation for the increased weight.
No sir, these are built with very basic tools. A door, depending on size, will take about 30 minutes to put together using a variety of sizes of whiteboard or pine (1"x4", 1"x6" or 1"x8"). Cut to length and then glued and trim head screwed. Sanded or roughed up depending on desired appearance and then stained.Hi R,
Are the styles and rails mortice and tenon?
Nice work...
My builder built all the walls on our house 2x6 which is very helpful

When I see woodwork like this it makes me wish I wouldn't have been such a teenager, and learned from my Dad. But, noooooo, I already knew everything I needed to know. Seemed like he could build anything with just a hammer, and saw. Thanks for the shout out!
