I guess there's no worry after "I" change it my self but for others who took like check after a shop gives them the key, it might be nice to verify the refill was done right...oh well...sucks for them... ?
The dealership changes the oil on some of my vehicles, even the Ranger periodically.

For those instances I just check it the next day, if I'm worried about it.

Generally though I think some folks here have an oil fetish. I'm probably checking it too little, but some of these guys seem to check their oil daily.

I guess you could ask for it If you really want it. Personally, I don’t want to take home 3/4 quart of oil. If I changed it myself, I would have to buy 7 quarts and I would probably just dispose of of the remnant 3/4 quart along with the old oil anyway.
When I shop for oil I buy it in 5qt jugs. A second 5qt jug will be good for 4 oil changes.

Your Ranger only takes 2.5 qts per fill?
Maybe I wasn't clear, I buy two 5qt jugs. I use one jug and 1.2 quarts from the second jug for 6.2 quarts. Next 3 oil changes I buy one 5qt jug and use 1.2 quarts from the initial second jug for the required 6.2 quarts.

The last six vehicles I have had took 6 quarts so I have been doing it this way for a lot of years. Buying seven individual quarts of oil cost more than two 5qt jugs.

The CDJR dealer we bought my wife's 2021 Jeep from gave us enough free oil changes to get through the 5/60 powertrain warranty so with her car I am letting the dealer do the changes. Ford only gave me one certificate for a free oil change and it expired before I had 2k miles on the truck so I will be doing my own changes.

I've always changed and checked my own oil but this time with getting the ranger new I negotiated a FREE maint package when purchased to close the deal after 3 days of negotiation back in 2019.
Will commence changing myself again next year.
