Ok Ranger gurus,
I'll apologize off the bat for a question that has countless posts and discussions already throughout this forum.
I've read some, definitely not all. But am going to ask anyhow.

Preparing to upgrade suspension/wheels/tires on 2020 Ranger FX4 w 37k miles.
Use of truck - daily driver, mostly on road, some light off roading (forest service roads, etc.).
Minimal towing. We do a lot of camping and head out to woods frequently. Also head to areas with snow.

I really like the look of the rangers I've seen here w/ 2'-3.5" lifts, slightly offset wheels, and running 285s.

I am thinking:
Fuel Shok 17x9 +20offset
Nitto Exo Grappler 285/70-17

But suspension?
Got the following from my local shop (highlighted is what they are recommending - and I think a few folks on forum have the Eibach pro...):

Asked about Old Man Emu - was told they are "overpriced for what they are."
Yes, I want a suspension lift and not just leveling/block kits - hoping to get away from washy soft FX4 suspension...

Thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions?

Thanks in advance.

My setup:

1-Fuel Shok same specs
2-Eibach Pro Lift at 2.5"
3-General Grabber X3 285/70-17
Thanks! Yeah - after your help with the shimmy issue, I had been looking at your set-up and...drooling. Very nice truck!

Happy with Eibach so far? You've got over 100k on truck - most on Eibach suspension?

Love them, they've outlasted the transmission (sad)...I installed the set when I had less than 5K and they're still holding up very nicely...of course I'm not the type to beat on them so your mileage may vary...

i think almost all of the options you listed are good quality. all will do what you want. i picked bilstein simply on reputation. they have been around for a long time and consistently make quality stuff. but i would not turn my nose up to the others listed. old man emu is an ARB company and they also have a long positive history. But, I would not spend what the ome stuff costs unless i needed the specific setup for some reason. the block ready lift i would not run unless price was my number one factor.

Please tell me who informed you that Old Man EMU is overpriced for what they are? Whoever it was probably doesn't understand the purpose of the Old Man EMU Suspension.

A few notes for you so you are aware.

For starters I would not recommend the wheels you are looking at. They are made in China and overpriced. They are most likely heavier than the OEM wheels as well.

If you insist on changing the wheels I would go with the Raptor/Tremor wheels or with the OZ Rally Raid. Not as much Offset and higher quality.

For the tires I can't speak too much for Nitto, but I know there are some that felt they would not have spent the money. I myself found the Firestone Destination XT's to be a nice choice overall. In the same size the Firestones are lighter by 11 LBS a piece. That amount of weight difference will drastically help with fuel mileage, handling and braking.

With the Old Man EMU lift I was able to fit the Firestones with the sport wheels and no spacers.

Since you do plan on towing ever once in a while and load up the bed from time to time please make sure you do. Ot have it leveled entirely before a load is on the truck. That will greatly help the overall experience.

imo 5100s set to 1-2 inches and then spacers so your not maxing th shocks. then 5100s in the rear. cheap but effective
Spacers on top of shocks like that is how you kill shocks.

As for the Bilstein shocks, I wouldn't call them cheap as they are a nice quality shock.

some mention a mild lift+small spacer it's better than maxing out the shock height and I tend to agree.

Eibachs + OME springs in the rear

Budget friendly and capable

I thought there was an issue with the Eibach rear shocks and the Old Man EMU Leafs? I remember a while back someone had issues but I'm not sure if it's changed since then(and I know it's been a bit)
