My bump is extremely consistent, just about always present, but I have not had the truck in colder weather. The only way it goes away is if I slip the truck into neutral before braking. Sport mode, tow mode, having 400ish lbs in the bed, manually shifting gears and keeping in first, etc., the bump is always present.

Not sure that the fact of the bump going away in neutral necessarily isolates it as a transmission issue, just that the driveshaft (with an excessively loose carrier bearing) isn't spinning any more so the bump disappears.

Torque converter unlocking still could be factor still as well I suppose.

I agree that lubing the slip yoke splines just masks the problem. Mine have been lubed and it seems to have had minimal effect for me.
i would suggest trying the cheap easy stuff first. The center support bearing is less than 50 dollars for a new one. maybe put a new one on and see if it improves. if it does improve that sorta nails down where the issue is. if it does not help then at least it was an inexpensive part. a dealer should be able to find the issue and fix it, but ford dealers are... ford dealers. you may get a good one you may get a terrible one.

I'm not experiencing this in my 2021 Tremor, but I just remembered something about my 2012 Mustang I used to own with a manual 6speed and a knock that was consistent when I went from clutching to driving, especially engaging the transmission from a stop and in first gear. The reason I'm mentioning this, is that it didn't start until after I took out the two-piece OEM driveshaft and added a competition aluminum single driveshaft as I was trying to beef up my vehicle, as many of us like to do. I just lived with it because I knew that was created most likely from the finite measurement differences in the length of the spline. But that ruled out the carrier bearing in that specific case. Just food for thought. Kind of a reverse situation.

Just got back from a few hours of city dwelling and the slip/bump or whatever we are calling it got on my nerves. Whether I kicked it in neutral, left it in drive or in sport. Come to stop, bump. Pull out, bump. How annoying. I had never noticed it this much before, but I rarely am in that constant stop and go city traffic either. Guess I'll measure the boot clamp on the driveshaft and go to the local Napa store and get a replacement for a future lube job.
Hey JasonTremor!
Did you have a chance to do this lube job to your Tremor? I’m having the same issue and am prepared to tackle this but was hoping to hear from someone who has done this on a Tremor, that rear differential CV joint assembly and those little bolts holding the driveshaft look like they could easily be over torqued without specs. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I haven't had time to do it yet as I'm waiting for cooler temperatures. The cv bolts at the rear axle appear to be the same for my 2009 mustang gt. I'll need to verify though. If they are the same, this may be a good reference for you. I have not verified these specs though.
