I have 2019 Lariat and updated my Sync3 and map files this past April. My current Sunc3 version is "3.4 Build 22252_PRODUCT" and my current map version is "NA 2 21". I assume the “2 21” means it’s from Feb 2021, but not sure, and that seemed strange considering I did this more than 2 years after that.

Anyway, the map never seemed like it had more current info/data than the previous version. It still references old exit numbers, etc.

I noticed recently that the map software does not save my history. I think this is new because I don’t remember this being an issue during a 7-week trip I made this past May and June.

Any ideas how to fix this? Would doing a “Master Reset” help this? Should I reinstall the map file?

Hoping somebody has already solved this problem.

Thanks, Mark

Sync vers 3.4.22252 had issues, the current version is 3.4.23088. also, your maps are a year out of date the current maps are NA 2 22.

I would definitely update Sync to the current version. The current map version will likely cost you.

As much as everyone likes to toute Google Maps always being up to date. I have found over the past 10 years that Google Maps typically takes 1 to 2 years before new roads appear or significant changes like exit number changes appear. Ford only issues updates annually and they are typically 1 year behind Google.

I also have a 2019 Lariat.

Here's what I did.

You're going to have to update Sync 3 with a USB stick. Download it then update it. You can't use Wi-Fi because the version you have now has issues.

Once you have version 3.4.23088, then you can use Wi-Fi. I'm at the point where I have to pay for a map update. I managed to update maps using Wi-Fi. I know it's up to date because a newly paved road in my area shows up now.

Thanks for the reply. I'll update Sync3.

Thanks for the reply. General consensus is to update Sync3, which I'll do, then make a decision about the map.

Personalty I would not pay for NA 2.22 maps. You should get them for free. Even the NA 2.22 is really outdated. I would wait for the next update if you have to pay.

Maybe you can get free maps from cyanlabs. Ford should not be charging for outdated maps.

I agree, but I may buy anyway. I bought a 5-year download (I think it was $199), which I think covers 3 downloads. It took a while to upload to the truck ... might have cost $199 in gas ...

You run the truck while doing an upload. Just get you a battery charger on and leave the truck in assy mode. Don't have to waist gas.

Good idea. I have a charger already. When I did it last time I didn't realize it was going to take so long.

I have an 2021 Ranger. Looking ahead I decided to forgo the added cost and time to do a Map update in Sync. Instead I bought a Garmin wide screen, placed it above the dash and am getting updates. Yes, the Garmin was about $125, however no cost updates.
