I totally understand the apprehension. There are several threads on here about how a tune affects warranty. Bottom line, Ford has to prove the tune was the cause of the issue.
There are plenty of people running a tune and so far I have not seen one that had a problem that involved the tune.
Thanks, James, I will absolutely take a look. Might be a few months before I jump on that ship though, I need to do some ring ? shopping in-between now and then.

I know I will eventually grow bored with the existing powerband and get that itch to turn up the power. The dyno graphs I have seen so far sure are enticing, especially with those massive gains on the low end of the RPM band. That being said, if (and more likely when) I do, I will need some supporting mods first and tune shortly thereafter. (i.e. a larger intercooler to handle the AZ summer heat, a mild aftermarket cat-back exhaust for a nice purr/rumble, and possibly a downpipe at the time of tune)

Those mid-July/Aug days out here are absolutely brutal on charged air temps, even up in the high desert where we live. I would hate to turn up the boost with a new ECU map and blow the head gasket or have premature detonation from the heat.

Welcome, and that's a nice looking Cactus Gray Ranger. The only limit is on your credit card, Ha Ha.
Welcome, and good choice on the color. That is one of the best colors there are for the Ranger IMO. You're going to love it.
Thanks fellas!

#AZScorpion used to live in AZ, he had a tune. I don't think he had any heat issues. Dave?
Performance wise, all I did was the AFE dry air filter (mostly because it's easy to clean and reuse), the tune, then topped it off with a dual rear exit exhaust from Gibson. I did notice a little more umph and better throttle response with the Gibson. It's not all that loud either.

@Msfitoy is our resident "supplementary lighting equipment" expert. Hand him your credit card info, and soon you'll be lit up enough to compete with those weird flying discs out by Roswell.

Congrats on the new truck!
@Misfitoy Does have quite the rig. I aspire to build our truck into something resembling that over the next few years.

Nope never had any heat issues. I tuned mine in early August and remember it was 110 out that day, I've ran it pretty hard too. It does make a huge difference in acceleration once the heat goes away and the days/nights became cooler.

The Ford Performance/ARB bumper has been on clearance for $495 on the Ford accessories web site. If they're not sold out, it's a steel. I paid $1500 for mine. It'll totally change your approach angle and set you up with a great winch platform.
That is a sharp looking bumper!
Store pictures make it look a little bulky online, but your build pictures don't seem to reflect that. It actually, seems quite reasonable, and I like the prerunner/baja-truck-esque style.

Welcome. I also reside in Kingman.
I wonder if we 2 are the only Kingman forum members?
Hey, a fellow Kingman-ite, what a small world!
I wouldn't be surprised if we're two of few at that!

That's reassuring to hear!
Did you notice the truck retard timing with subsequent WOT pulls, sitting in traffic, or general city driving at low speeds?

No never. This is my first turbo and while it was impressive stock I kept reading about everyone who tuned theirs and well ,just had to do it. lol It really made a huge difference especially in your daily driving. The transmission shifted way better and there was just enough power down low for those moments when you needed to get into another lane or going up an entrance ramp without the turbo lag.

So... think of Addictive Desert Designs as more like a Thong, and Ford Performance more like Granny Panties. You WANT to look hot & sexy, but in the end....
you're much happier with the coverage & comfort. Yes, it's bulky, but it offers so much more! And for this price? Geez!

Weird, it just shows that as the price, not that it has been discounted.
I'm guessing it'll be there til they're sold out. They also have the Safari Snorkel kit for 2&change. I picked it up cuz it's 6&change everywhere else. I wasn't gonna install it yet, but then some guy pulled out in front of me. In short, I had the body shop do the install since I was there anyway. They were happy to take a brake from fenders & bumpers, do a fun project and didn't kill me with the labor.
